Not sure where to put this: Was just reading an article on Yahoo about Matthew Perry's death. The article was peppered with ads for plunge pools!!
Bloody fires on all sides of town. Cars packed, just watching the wind to see if we have to bug out from the farm. Got 2- 3k before it gets here. Was good to see the 767 tanker turn up and start dropping retardant about 30 minutes ago. Been like Apocalypse Now, helicopters and planes everywhere!
Stay safe John, which town? We should have our own fleet of specialised air tankers instead of paying through the nose for the Canadians to turn up FFS..
Tenterfield Simon. Fortunately the wind has dropped and it looks like the RFS have a grip on the western front which is good. I believe homes were lost in Wallangarra. Anyway, a fantastic effort by the aerial assets and ground crews and the tyre guy in town who replaced a tyre on my fire trailer for nothing this morning! Also, I believe the 767 that showed is an RFS asset purchased after the 2019 fires.
"Also, I believe the 767 that showed is an RFS asset purchased after the 2019 fires." Ookaay,I thought I heard/read that there were nil Aussie jet tankers.....I will go google. Ok so yes there is a 737 but it's still operated by Coulson and it's base is at Busselton in WA FFS. 'Cos you'll have plenty of time to read this https://issuu.com/afaclimited/docs/fa2112_summer_01-52_lr/s/15818502
Coulsons track record is not so good,in the past 2 years 2 tankers lost,1 aircrew lost and 1 freakishly surviving.
Proof our country has gone to shoit: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-01/terrorist-abdul-benbrika-citizenship-restored-in-high-court/103047952
Very sad, back in my school days our house backed onto St Lucy's which was a convent then. I think way after we were there the house,in Billyard Ave,was taken over by what was to become the school.: https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/school-life/police-called-to-st-lucys-school-for-disabled-children/news-story/e5874db1a5c4a077c8b970e403cdf440
I feel so sad, that this magnificent 1920s home sitting on 3,000 sqm is no longer, bloody Chinese developers all that be built are 5 to 6 'Mac Mansion things of poor build quality . I've admired this home since I was a child, walked by it most days, talked to various owners over decades, and drove by it every day for the last 26 years -and always looked in and admired ..................NO LONGER. Arseholes, another good reason for everyone to check where anything youse buy is made in china....and leave it well enuff alone.
Blame your local council for letting it happen. And our Federal government for allowing foreigners to buy our property.
The local council as weak as they are ,all the time are overruled by Vcat and NOW the State Govt planning authority
What about the sellers who were happy to pocket the cash and real estate/ legal agents who are happy to deal with mountains of cash when they KNOW $50k is the maximum that can be LEGALLY taken of China each year. And do you know for a fact that the developers are Chinese???
You have NO idea as per normal and the above post-like many explains WHY you are where you are in LIFE. I know the previous owners and as friends, they sold through a quality agent in good faith with the understanding that the home was to be the new home for the purchaser and family . As for pocketing the cash, the sale price would make NO difference to their A & L statement. It's what happens when vendors sell their homes in the upper-end areas in Melbourne and Sydney with the understanding they will be family homes to the purchasers, often purchased through a 3rd party. The norm several years later they are pulled down. As for the 50k rule WAKEUP And yes I know they are mainland Chinese, weren't you married to one? how did that GO" And how the same Monkey has been doing this in the area for over a decade. Like many in my area, I have lived here for decades and find the above sad and distressing, So for you living in an 80s flat in the back blocks of Coolum would have NO understanding of this or the heritage of areas destroyed. Go draw up a kitchen bench !
No, it comes on here as normal with the 180-degree comment . Little wonder few respond to its postings!
Another Chinese kick in the guts, this time in the UK. The mob that make the flash EV powered taxi's have bought the company and they're now making them in Shanghai (I think) as well. I wonder how long it will take to close the Pommy factory...
That is a VZ and I’ve sold that exact same car to old Keith a few years ago. Keith was an older gentleman with his left foot amputated because of diabetes. He was a very nice old fella and I don’t see him driving it around anymore but I see what could be his family driving it around now days.
