My 2013 Cali has a flaky Reverse button. Seems like the spring is going bad. Can these be rebuilt if you send them off to get refinished? A sticky set is $600 on eBay and that is bonkers. Anyone figure this out?

Sorry I don't have a direct answer but mine is 2013 and went awol some time ago. I drove it to the dealer and they did something to bring it to life while I waited, so it seems there is a way even though I don't know what they did? It hasn't happened since but my lesson was don't park the car so that you need to revers it to drive it ;-)

The spring in the button is my guess. It kind of gets stuck. With a little fiddling it works fine. Just would prefer to be proactive this winter when I don’t drive it as much

I’ve disassembled mine and repaired the small plastic parts. It’s not terribly difficult but you need to be very careful as it’s very easy to break something. Also, check Scuderia parts, I think you can get a new complete harness for around $250 bucks. Not exactly cheap, but you’ll have no more problems.

Does the harness include new buttons? I was going to refinish my buttons but at that price point might as well get new ones.

Yes, the buttons are an integral part of the plugs, but don’t quote me on the cost, my memory is not very good when it comes to remembering things  If you happen to have a carbon fiber center bridge, beware of fitment issues. I had to return a new harness to Scuderia because the plugs wouldn’t fit through the holes. Evidently the process of making the bridge with carbon fiber reduces the diameter of the holes just enough to prevent inserting the new plugs, and I wasn’t going to try to enlarge them.

I had the same exact experience last year when I bought the wrong gear box buttons/module from Scuderia parts USA. (My Cali has the carbon fiber center bridge) The two Ferrari part numbers below: (See pictures.)

Ferrari Part # 266333 - For cars with carbon fiber center bridge.

Ferrari Part # 266334 - For cars without the carbon fiber center bridge.

You have to remove the entire console. Look up the thread "center console disassembly to refinish auto r ps buttons".

The spring function on my Reverse button failed in addition to one of the three plastic ‘legs’ that the button rides on. I didn’t have a spring so I MacGyvered it by using a small piece of packaging foam cut to the thickness that would compress it slightly when installed, and still have room to compress a little more when the button is pushed.

We know a vendor that currently has these buttons in pre production. Should have them available soon.
