The air pump was removed by PO and the parts were saved. I looked at the OM and it doesn’t have much detail. Looking at Maranello parts diagram shows the same filter assy that I have with right angle 90deg adapter to the valve. However the valve on the bracket has two electrical leads that interfere with the oil vapor box. Also not sure if the front bank air hose was changed but the right angle adapter hose doesn’t seem to line up. I am wondering if I have the right equipment and installing the bracket in correct location. Also not sure if the valve on the bracket needs to be moved to not interfere with oil vapor box. Because that's the wrong electrovalve (with different built-in mounting bracketry) -- this is the correct 111704 electrovalve for that location: https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/111704 (Only the Maranello SPC figure is correct for a '78-'79 US 308 B/S)
Thanks Steve. I do assume this equipment was not the same stuff removed by the PO. I will look into getting the other electro valve. I do wonder why the 90deg fitting is so far back near oil vapor box. Not sure if that hose was changed out- was planning on replacing with longer heater hose to line up 90 deg hose / valve.
I got the new valve and it fits nicely. Thanks again Steve. I am wondering about vacuum line routing from the small hose on side of air relief valve - see attached pic. I don’t see this hose in your vacuum line routing diagram. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Because that side port is just a vent to the atmosphere (no vacuum hose goes there) -- but that does look like the correct 111705 Diverter Valve for a 78-79 US. Only the port on the top of the Diverter Valve gets a vacuum hose connected. Where does that vacuum hose (wrongly) connected to the side port go (or did go)? Looks to me like at one time someone sprinkled a few of the various emission components (or near look alikes) to wiggle past a visual emission inspection.
