Hi all. I’m a two week 87 TR owner and am in the process of freshening up the interior. I know the beige
leather code is 4208, but I cant find any info on the code for the brown dash and armrests. Does anyone know the code and name for the color?

    Hi Todd,
Congrats on your car. To answer your question, I believe the code is 890 which I have found as “brown” or alternatively as “chocolate.” I’ll also add it may not be as simple as knowing the code to fix any issues, depending on your level of expected results.
Are you planning on having the leather re-dyed or replaced? Replacement may not match exactly due to aging of your car’s leather over time. Also, different sources may not be exact in their replication of that color, or the texture of the leather. Dyes may be more accurate to your current color as they can often be custom mixed to more accurately match, but mainly require an actual sample to match against (either in person or with a small piece of the leather).

Hi - its an 87, so two mirrors, central wheel lock. Here's a few photos. The paint on it is nearly flawless but the interior needs work. This is definitely a dream car for me and I worked up the courage to get one after settling into Ferrari ownership with the 360 and F355.

Thanks this is super helpful. I plan to redye/repair all of the interior which is faded and has some real wear on it. All of the leather is in good shape except for the panel under the windshield which is pretty torn up. Anyone know of a good source for that leather?

I recently used the Clourlock system to redye the seats on my 360 with the color code 4208. I think it turned out very well and as you can see from the before and after it really restored the original color which had faded quite a bit. It's a LOT of prep work, and I invested in a spray gun and used their clear coat system to ensure it won't fade again anytime soon. It retains (for the most part) the original softness of the leather as long as you don't cake it on. I used their liquid leather product to fill in the large creases and wear and it is holding up quite well. It is hard to use though if you have contrast stitching as you would need to do it by hand near the stitching areas. I plan to do the TR this winter and will definitely post the before and after.

If it was my TR, I would paint the Chocolate dash and door handles black, and also replace the carpet with black, IMO, it looks much better. Plus it is much easier to take care of . It will make you car standout, as I swear 50% of the early TR are red tan and all look alike.

The link I posted above appears to sell the leather.

NOS dash panels can also be found for generally under 1k. Installing it requires pulling the dash - big job.

I'd check that the clear coat is compatible with the F leather from that era - different from the 360.
