Anyone going?
What do you recommend for Dinner ? The Wynn seems to have full reservations 2 weeks before so not sure
I sneaked a peek at the Sunset GT cars setting up. Pretty wild lineup already, like 3 Chirons, Zonda Cinque, three McLaren Sabres, two P1 (GTRs it looks like), Senna, Sian, etc. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Made this video of the event. Pretty cool being on the Wynn Golf Course. Never been there before. Towbin brought a 296 spider. Never seen one in person before. Its pretty amazing in that metallic red. I post some pictures of it in the 296 section.
Great video , thanks for sharing . Happy the course is still there . Fun to have the sphere with the eye ball looking at you while you hit your shot ! ///
This was right below our hotel window view. This year was much improved for spectators. Last year was like The Quail with huge emphasis on people presenting cars and the top gourmet foods. This year was like Concours Italiano where they did a bigger job to host the many spectators (at least twice). So many great conversations with car people, this year two other owners came to chat and we forgot about lunch LOL My favorite is more signs from confusing Casino Thank You . Unfortunately I was out of town this year but it looks like it has grown a bit from last year, which is good. It was an awesome show and I hope it grows every year to include more cars. Super bummed I missed seeing a 296 in the flesh as well as the SF90XX.
Las Vegas concours was better than Monterey this year as everything is centrally located around the Wynn. Early entry is so convenient and clever to do. Park your car the day before on the golf course and start engaging other car people. The conversiions were so engaging that we slipped up on lunch late and snacked quick to return for fun. So kind to provide the waters close by so we can keep chatting with Internationaists. There was one old geezer that came up to Gary Bobileff and thought he was actually car crazy Barry meguire to tell him 'how much he enjoyed the tv show" Gary was deer in the headlights LOLOL
SF90 XX Stradale is a 'yes' if offered. I would do bad things for that car. Image Unavailable, Please Login McLaren Sabre is also incredible in person. Compared to the Senna, the Sabre looks much more complete. In photos, those folded-over fenders look odd but seeing it in person and taking it in, it was stunning. And 3 of the 15 Sabres in the world were there! Love the P1 GTRs and I think there were 4. I eat crow on the 'new' Countach LP-800. Like my Sabre criticism: in photos it looks awkward and oddly proportioned, but in person, standing over it, totally different. The lights look too high in photos, in person that area of the nose is so sharp and close to the ground it's a non-issue. Speaking of which, ran in to Fchat alum Jeff Cheng and his squadron of Koenigseggs and Pagani - the brown Countach was his too. Valkyrie AMR Pro - awesome yet unobtanium. When looking at it, the cabin seems really small - those aero tunnels leave big gaps that confuse your brain as you look at it.
