Don't think so. 3765, originally a 330 4 litre car, raced as a prototype and was NOT Omologato (homologated). None of the 250 GTOs had ID plates that said 250 GTO either. They all said 250 GT.

Sorry to disagree. Here's the tag of 3451 GT (stating Tipo 250 GTO) plus also a pic of the chassis number stamping which has an added "O". Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is that plate original, and when and who added the "O" on the chassis? It's inconsistent with the other letters.
Had the pleasure of viewing the car this AM. Such a beautiful design. we will all know by tonight if someone will be ponying up for this interesting GTO, if it doesn't sell tonight I wonder what the reserve is set at
I consider the tag genuine/original/period. I cannot answer when and who added the "O" to the chassis stamping. Marcel Massini
