Suggest a place within FChat where we can share info about when, where and how our vehicles are being transported.

For example, my Mondial will move from the Spokane area (David Geary’s shop in Deer Park) to Southern California in about two weeks.

FChatters therefore will know about that move and can consider whether they want to attempt to get a slot on the “Ferrari-level” truck coming toward SoCal; or they might want a pickup in SoCal to go somewhere else.

Next year when I send my car back to Geary for a predefined “major” other FChatters might want to send their car to him too, etc.

Yes, there will be missed opportunities and lost chances - but having more info about Ferrari-level trucks and car movements is probably better than not having that info.

This comment is offered, also, in response to FChatters who are not being able to find qualified and capable technicians and those who are selling or buying a car who need readily available info about Ferrari-level transporters who will be driving in or out of their location in the near future. Well, where this is a world wide forum. I think you are best served to post a thread in your local forum and the forum where you want to ship your car.

I think a thread on shippers is a good idea.

That's a good idea. Last summer when I had to have my 612 shipped back to MA from Montreal, I posted on here for recommendations and got several good referrals.

I don’t think it works like that or to the degree any value.

When in Monterey I learned the true scale of high end auto shipping. I used Plycar, who is small and I think they have 50 trucks. Imagine how many hundreds of trucks the big guys have.

They have trucks everywhere and your car may not stay with the same truck the entire time.

What about a dedicated thread on shippers?

Start it if you want. It changes often. Intercity use to be awesome, then they pulled a complete truck from us. Plycar did great for me to Monterey and back, also at 25-50% less than others.

Won't work without being a sticky.

doesn’t work as a sticky, making a thread sticky is a death sentence for activity.
