F1 2023 Las Vegas GP Pre-Race Thread

It was part of the grid walk. Bernie acted as if he had no idea what Brundle was asking. An awkward moment of silence followed and then Brundle soon departed explaining to the camera/audience that he thought this was a legit question.

 

Typical Bernie. I ran into him in Gstaad main pedestrian street in late June 2020 and we talked about various car books I was involved with and others. Very much someone who keeps you on your toes, an amazing mind that seeks out interesting topics. His wife was across the street, chatting, less than a week before she gave birth to their son. This was right by the hotel they own.

 

Of course it would be unprecedented. But these days…?

And of course, it couldn’t prevent an incident, but it would result in warmer tires at the bottleneck.

Pure luck running into him, but I really appreciated the moment.

 

It seems there's a rolling start every time it's slightly sprinkling.

 

I am expecting an action-packed race but one thing is almost certain, Max is going to win this one as well. Tipping Alonso to finish on the podium as well hopefully alongside Leclerc.

 

Which F1 driver will jump the fountain at Caesar's, ala Evel Knievel? Probably either Max or Perez since the Red Bull ads says it makes you fly!

 

Thought it was inappropriate to bring up Bernie's financial situation on a grid walk. Brundle was a little off that day.... he should have loosened up and played the air piano for just two seconds to send Machine Gun Kelly on his way, instead of wasting more time with him.

 

Will Elvis be there?

Aside from his clear passionate and cringy love for LH, Martin is one of the best personalities in F1 to me. I love his grid walks and his no nonsense approach. He tends to say what he thinks and doesn’t sugar coat things much. Same reason Kimi will always be my favorite driver.

 

I like him, but my wife less so. She thinks he's kind of awkward. I liked when Leigh Diffey did the grid walk for NBC. I also miss David Hobbs.

 

Are you involved with Vegas commerce department or F1?
