    Hey guys,

I just shipped my 360 back to Florida, where I have residence in a high rise building. The garages do not have any electrical outlets I can access, so I can't plug in the battery tender when it's at my building. For reference, if I'm storing more than a week or so, I have an off-site garage about 30 minutes from my building.

I assume most will suggest a battery kill switch installation. Are there any other practices that can keep the battery/electrical healthy on the car in the short-term?

    Thanks in advance!

Your 360 should already have a master kill switch in the luggage compartment

Some of these cars have a huge parasitic draw on the battery, even with the master switch off. Some cars, like mine, barely sip at the battery when it's just sitting there. You might want to characterize the parasitic draw on your car and if it's just a few milliamps, you could go several weeks without a worry. If your battery is several years old, it won't matter. Your car will be dead in a week.

It's far better to only use the master switch to do maintenance. Each time the car is turned "off", the ECU loses important information that could take 100's of miles to recover. The first start after a master switch is turned on will be rough and the engine will run like crap for about five minutes. During that time, excess fuel is dumped into the headers, causing the pre-cats in the headers to be coated with fuel. When they get to ignition temperature, they can overheat dramatically, or have small explosions that can crack and cause them to fail. That, you do not want.

So making regular use of the shutoff switch is a really, really bad idea.

Depending on how long it's stored, you might consider switching to a lithium battery as well like Antigravity as they do better over longer periods without being plugged into a tender.

Mine stayed a whole 3 months of winter without being started at freezing temps in MA... no outlet or plug of any kind. Battery voltage was at 12.9V when I started her... But I had a new T6 Antigravity battery :)

Let me understand..if you aren't using the car for more than a week you bring it to a place with electricity

So we are talking about a week or less between trips with car

A newer battery without anything unnecessarily draining battery .... Should be fine if I understand you correctly..no need to worry if the longest you will go is a week without a charger

You’re right, the antigravity battery is the way to go if you can’t have access to an outlet since it does keep a reserve to allow you to start the car even if it sits.

.. I no longer disconnect the battery when I keep her in the garage for weeks. Does not make a huge difference in voltage drop. Maybe I am lucky and there are not many parasitic draws? Who knows.

I think this is because the Antigravity battery is better at dealing with parasitic power draw than a standard "dumb" battery.

... and I said it before, it saves 35lbs of weight. How much cf you need to put in, and how much would it cost you to save that amount of weight.

I generally turn mine off and take the keys with me.
