I expect the track to be extremely slick. I remember COTA FP1 in 2012. Brand new surface with cold temps and it was like the cars were on ice. Could be pretty dicey with the walls so close. I wouldn't be surprised to see some damage in the first session.

So I’m just going to say this.
The cars are too damn quiet.

Red flag. Sainz crashed? Or technical issues.

    Technical issue it sounds like

Clock doesn’t stop so everyone is losing valuable time to learn the track and for the track to evolve

Agreed. They used to make the ears bleed. Now you don't even need earplugs. Feh.

Agreed! My scca vette racecar break sound at laguna seca. The djs are lounder than the cars. Cool liveries though...

Sometimes the support races (Porsche cup, Ferrari challenge, historic F1) are louder than the F1 cars :D

For those there, how crowded is it for FP1? Or how full are the stands?

Session not to be resumed. Easy to clear a car 100ft from an exit so sounds like possibly a track issue is what commentators are saying

Losing an entire FP Session at a new street circuit is not good for the teams or for development of grip on the track

I'm hearing there might be issues with the man hole covers. Might just be a rumor though.

I'm at the track, and nobody here seems to understand why the session was stopped and whether there will be a second.

Oops. Do we have a massive fail here? Something is wrong apparently with the track.

Apparently they have laser shows mastered but a working PA system hasn’t broken out of the ‘60s yet….

Well, yeah. Ripped the floor out of the Ferrari. I hope Carlos is ok.
