The Mayor is quiet. He must be in the taco line. I know he likes them.
Fred Vasseur: "We damaged completely the monocoque, the engine, the battery. I think it’s just unacceptable. It cost us a fortune. We ****ed up the session for Carlos. We won’t be part of FP2 for sure. I think it’s just unacceptable for F1 today."
The reason F1 stopped going to Vegas, decades ago, was that the ground effects cars were pulling up the manhole covers. Seems like they tack welded the cover to the frame, but the whole frame pulled loose from the pavement. That would call for an inspection of every manhole and drain on the circuit. Vegas in the desert likely has a lot of sand in the road bed. Not a real secure attachment for a metal frame. Nobody in F1 old enough to remember that this was a problem with Vegas street circuits?
Los servicios de mantenimiento trabajan en reparar la alcantarilla y en fijar el marco, que es lo que ha cedido. Esta es una foto de una alcantarilla del pitlane. The top photo of the welder is great after this incident… amazing. Hopefully they will get it back going again. Robb
I wonder IF Ferrari, Alpine, and Alfa-Romeo will send the bill to the Las Vegas Organizers due to the damage on their cars sustained by a "faulty" drain cover. It's happened before with HAAS and Grosjean at the MalaysianGP practice when Grosjeans car sustained damage due to a loose drain cover in 2017. HAAS was repayed over a million USD due to the damage by the faulty drain from the organizers.
Checkout you tube channel .....Ramcharged Adventures......live stream from his hotel room of the repairs etc by Caesarshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCSQQ2kUB-k they stopped now ...will be back for live stream of FP2 !
They just finished a Klye Minogue live set. Pretty good. The music has been great. too bad no cars though
The Organizers should have insurance with regards to this event no? IF so, then the insurance company handles these types of matter SHOULD the teams request compensation for damages sustained on their cars from a faulty drain cover(s).
BTW, a couple got married at the F1 track alter....it was bound to happen...it's Vegas. Jacques Villeneuve of all people getting married.
The track supervisor and a repair crew just drove past me going to the pits in the opposite direction of the traffic flow. Seems they did what they could.
Fred Vasseur remembers Malaysia2017 with HAAS and Grosjean. You can bet Vasseur will be sending the bill to the Las Vegas organizers insurance company.
