Just imagine Ferrari saying they won't race because of this unfair penalty.
I can assure you they would promptly cancel it..

Didn't something similar happen at Long Beach decades ago?

In the 80s, Walter Brun, the Swiss slot-machine entrepreneur lost 2 Porsche 962s in the same race because of lose manhole covers during a street race (can't remember the location either!). On one car, the manhole cover punctured the floor and entered the cockpit !

See previous posts, it has happened countless times on street courses; it is page 1 paragraph 1 of running a new street course professionally.

Understatement of the thread lol. Im happy he put Toto back in his place. No fans, asked to leave, destroyed cars. I have friends who have already left the track and hotel. No value for money. Off to play golf somewhere in CA. As Bas said a purpose built HQ and track for Liberty would have been a much better alternative but that goes utterly counter to the SHORT TERM thinking utterly evident in Liberty's modus operandi.

I think I will start paying more attention to Indycar next year and follow it more closely.
After 51 years of following F1, I am running out of patience.
It didn't take long for Liberty to bring F1 to it's knees, IMO.

Toto should be more of a team boss and less 'Corporate Cheerleader' for LIberty. He was completely off base in this instance tonight. His comments about not being watched in Europe was absurd. He might need to find a new day-job.

Street races will never make sense to me. They are too much of a compromise.

it was the definition of brown nosing.

As for people not watching it...that really wasn't a good claim for him for starters, secondly, looking at social media early in the morning just how many people woke up really early (even in the UK) just to watch the very first FP of this Vegas thing was much more than I anticipated.

And none of them particularly joyful.

Seems like we have a good opportunity for a strong result this weekend.
Fred should do a « Todt lookalike » lobbying overnight to cancel Sainz penalty.
