This is not the first time it happens and with more and more street circuits sooner or later someone is going to get killed. The issue is that it seems they just let the cars go out in FP1 and if one gets destroyed then they check the drain covers. I wonder if FIA could make a "F1 approved drain cover", just like they have standard barriers and so on. The cost of a few "premium" drain covers is minimal for this circus.
Thats utterly hilarious. Look at any other 'street-crap' circuit F1 visited recently say like SINAGPORE. They dont have this issue. Liberty might need to get out of the racing business and just stay in Vegas and deal blackjack and hire street performers. So the implication its the teams fault eh???? Wow..............brain dead is what Liberty is. Again........Andretti SHOULD RUN away from this.
LOL (I made that up). but look over here! Hovercraft showdown! https://www.redbull.com/int-en/videos/unserious-race-series-2023-las-vegas
Really hoping for another kind of Indianapolis 2005. Better one time total disaster, killing the event, than having to watch that crappy sh... for the next few years. Miami is already bad, with its "celebrity"/American Football/fake marina facade, and nobody caring about the fact that the most of racing there was boring - but this is even much worse. Yes, I know the killer-answer "but hey, it's Vegas", whatever they want to tell me with that - but sorry, I don't buy it. Even if anyone told me "Hey, it's Magny Cours" or "Hey, it's Yeongam" that would excite me more now...
The REAL reason Max is correct about VEGAS by Peter Windsor - YouTube Peter Windsor absolutely nail on head this whole video (ignore the title, he talks many more points). He said it best quoting Bernie: "Always expose the drivers less, leave the fans wanting more and more". Bernie was a flipping genius.
