The crowds were going buck wild during the overtakings at the end of the strip.

It is the greatest concert venue in the world. Its the modern version of Carnegie Hall. I don't know a single person who have been inside who thought it was "meh". Its certainly not "for kids" but the movie presentation they show is for everyone.

Attending was a last min decision for me. I didn’t get any seats as I heard rumors some of the businesses were taking walk-ins. I decided I wanted the flexibility of walking around the end of the strip Aria corner to get a feel of what the best views are for next year.

Just walking around that corner in circles going up and down the escalators across the different bridges I probably experienced 20 different views … all pretty amazing. Only problem is security forces you to keep moving. The view from our room at Aria was pretty good as well, but I wanted to be on the ground close to the cars. It’s a whole different experience when you can hear the sound and power of an F1 car right underneath you as they are going under a bridge.

I agree about the 3 days had different exits. I got out the same way the last 2 nights to Manhattan Blvd.

Also agree they need more support races to increase the value. I was in Singapore and they had several. Porsche cup races are pure crash and bash!

If you look at the fiasco of day one, and add in Max's crappy attitude and dissing the fans, they recovered very well. Like any new event they will learn what works and what doesn't. But this track sure has action, which F1 desperately needs.

Agreed, The Vegas GP needs F2 and Porsche Super Cup or Ferrari Challenge to fill in the down time between FP's and Qualifying.

I didn't realize the lights of the casino's etc were dimmed as much. That's a massive shame and probably the reason why it gave the illusion of it being a massive building site for much of the track.

    Exactly.

I expected that once the race was over they would all illuminate their casinos, but no.

I saw the max /Charles turn one onboard during the race. Had anyone found it on YouTube? Looked like they were both sliding wide.

Cold tires, fully fueled, a slick track and cold temperatures were a prerequisite for "slip sliding away" on lap 1.

I was one who was really worried this track would be a bore. Man, I was wrong.

I thought there were not enough corners, the course too narrow, and the straights too long. But I also figured the corner of CVS from Sands onto the Strip (where Norris crashed) would be critical to get top speed down the Strip. I thought more drivers would lose that corner trying to push. No one did but for sure how well you could take that corner made a difference, which is why there were so many passes up and down the order.

I am wondering if they won't be so greedy about gouging people next year? I know a lot of people that said they were going until they discovered how expensive it was going to be. I think the time sucked!

The racing seemed like it exceeded expectations. Nobody is talking about the track being an upside down pig this morning...

I cant be sure, but I think LEC may be the only driver to actually pass VER this year during a race. He also passed PER twice. I mean that is pretty phenomenal. I know its hard to look at finishing 2nd as a great day after being on pole, but this year it is!!

A whole other experience when I watched live with 18000rpm screaming V-10s

Something that I never experienced again watching live.

Actually he didn’t. The team instructed him to tow, he didn’t think of his teammate or volunteer it on his own. He only agreed to tow after he was given direction.

Here’s my buddy’s view from the other side. Seems a lil too distant for my liking. I wanted to be inches from the cars for my first F1 experience. Being on the bridge as the cars flew under was insane. I saw driver heads from directly above. I could see the front of the cars as they were coming then the rears on the other side of the bridge as the pulled away. They are insanely quick. Probably similar to watching a fighter jet fly by low.

Lap 36 MAX makes the call for Perez to stick with him and work together.
That's well before the team asked him to back off again in the closing couple of laps to get a gap of around 2.5 seconds.

Max told the team with 3 laps left in the race to play the team game and offered Perez a tow while slowing down his(Max) lap times.

The team told Max to play the team game earlier in the race.

SO I was in the exact same section. The camera distorts the image. Its actually much much closer than that photo shows. The Sphere just towers over you. In this photo is looks so small and the track so far away. I was 30 rows up. I don't know if I would change anything. I might have wanted to be one section more to the North but I don't think it would make much difference.

Not even a seat I believe. Just walk in.

I paid $2500 for T mobile for all three days. High? Yep. $1500 would have been more reasonable. But the drinks and food was free and the concert and show stuff quite. Still would have liked more track action though.

And one reason I bought T mobile is its the closest walking distance to home. I used the Monorail to get close and walked home.

Charles' last overtake, on the last lap, was one of the boldest moves I've seen from a Ferrari driver in a long while.
