I imagine a lot of tears over this one, some from happiness, some from instant regret.

 

Wow. On initial inspection would appear someone’s got a bargain.

High mileage for an SA and roof likely an expensive fix, but all the same. Would make a great everyday drive!

I still think if someone made a carbon roof replacement it would be a great option. Do it properly...supply a metal case with foam formed padding for the glass to reside in until it's time to sell. I forget the cost of the roof but isn't the original like 25K now or something?

57k kms isn't high, 20 year old car, under 2K miles a year. But that's me.

Still a bargain and then some!

• One of the highest mileage Superamericas I've seen hit auction. Has plenty of life left, but it is what it is.
• F1 (obviously)
• Broken roof, very expensive replacement
• Accident history, several body panels replaced
• Existing blemishes
• Broken speaker
• Shocks need attention
• Coming out of Hong Kong, doesn't have the same comfort factor of coming out of UK/Germany/US

Still, a very low price if somebody doesn't care about the top or if they have a pathway to get it done efficiently.

Agreed, combined with smaller market for RHD means you basically are seeing the bottom of the market IMHO. Similar in many ways to the TMU tired 456GT with mystery issues being treated like a hot potato.

Guys...lets be honest here. RHD and some (already fixed) body panel damage + the wonky roof (it's not the glass that's damaged but the mechanism...so should be a much, much easier and cheaper fix) isn't going to slash the value of the car by 2 thirds.

As @Mirek says...there is a scary bottom of the market, that people really have to start to consider.

Like ALL modern cars for the past couple of decades, just wait until those computers, and the sensors that feed them information, start going schizophrenic, while "telling" us that they're just fine..... especially once the manufacturer (and dealers) have abandoned them as "too old to bother".

 

I think a lot of cars up to around 2010 (that being final-ish production year), can be ''modernized'' but at the same time be simplified. Does mean the car will be significantly modified so forget resale upsides to those looking for originality haha.

The cars since then incorporate so many different ECU's it's ridiculous.

Upgrading a 90s or early 2000s car to run a PDM instead of fusebox etc...simplify the wiring, something broken? Stick a laptop in.

What is it that makes that top so expensive. Is it simply that Ferrari won’t make you one unless you pay them $100,000?

 

Price mostly by available stock; I’ve found as available stock shrinks the price does up exceptionally. Yes it was $$$ to make but not that pricey so this is all “because they can and buyers will pay”

 

What if it was chopped up and converted to a six speed “gated !” shifter car when they sold it ?
I bet that would have made it almost a salvage and worth even less. Just a guess. I go back and forth on converting these things because at some point it becomes just a project.

 

Btw for an example, the HGTC rear sway bar is now NLA. It used to be first around $450 then around $600 for the longest time until stock ran low…then it was $1200 to $1500. Then the last few listed at over $3000. Now they are NLA. (Fortunately now with the new MSW bars, used prices have dropped a lot…if you can find one of course)
Same with HGTC springs. Last few left now list well over $500-600 each.

 

Dirty deeds done dirt cheap.
