There was another white one for sale when I bought mine out there. I've been told it's going to Florida for "off-road use only" ie. race car. I know there's another white one out there under the same use...I wonder if it's the same owner? Someone collecting white CS's and waiting for them to turn 25 perhaps?
I didnt even pay attention to the Carfax. 11 Owners is bad IMO. Was the car just bouncing between dealers and flippers...
Makes me wonder if the car has a problem. Like how my CS had a massive number of issues that would never be noticed util the car was driven more than 100 miles a year. Mine also bounced around from owner to owner until it got to me who is finally fixing all the crap. It's definitely a possibility with this one as well. Also, as I pointed out in the BAT messages, the car came delivered with a stereo system, which has been half/improperly removed. Didn't want to be ****** and say the following there and screw the Seller, but with the many owners and the stereo system half removal (probably also means other work has been halfway done in it's history), I wouldn't touch it. Those are signs of the possibility of............................stuff. IMHO.
Well, I can tell you I know someone who has seen the car in person and says the seats look extremely worn with cracks in the leather. He said the leather in the CS and 360s holds up fairly well, but this seems like it was exposed to bad weather (stored outdoors?). For whatever reason the pictures don't really show how bad the seats are. I'm still at 250K for this car, but I would not touch it with 11 previous owners.
I think $250k is certainly in the ballpark and it will be interesting to see if there is a reserve in the mix. Personally, I could never pull the trigger on a car like this without personally seeing it. I would need have a local PPI done and scrutinize every inch. Thats just me.
I have purchased 3 F cars and one Maserati in my lifetime and have been fortunate enough to have purchased each of those cars with records from day, one, limited owners, personally inspected and PPI. Never had a surprise in ownership. Still have the CS and 575. When it was time to sell, it was an easy process to find a new custodian for the 599 and Maserati GS due the limited owner ship and meticulous records that I had. It was not surprising that the new owners had a similar mindset. I only say this because it it created a peace of mind in the process. That doesn’t mean you can’t find a quality car doing it a different way. Just sayin…..
The Argento CS I bought here was looked after by the F dealer. They were kind enough to share the history of the vehicle and told me the seller recently brought the car in for an inspection. I would never buy a car looking at just pics etc. Takes a lot of research and DD if you ask me. Especially at these prices. Cars under 15-20k miles or cars with very unique specs (rare colors etc) are going to start fetching 400k in the near future.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-ferrari-360-challenge-stradale-30/ no sale black leather is tough for a CS
wld have been for me too, but when i mention that was a factor in my F40 purchase I'm told I'm an idiot. i like having a 2 owner f40 and a 2 owner CS and 2 owner F355 and 2 owner diablo SV, call me dumb!
Yeah, the 11 owner constantly flipped is certainly an issue. Maybe it's just me, but the presentation was not stellar either. Some of the pictures had smudges on the dash or dirt on the floor. I mean at least give it a good detail before listing it.
A little off-topic here, but what would you guys @ttforcefed and @ifeelfree0 consider as "hard to find" examples of these cars?
For me personally, mine is RS with beige leather. While that is the traditional combination, not so in the CS. I think it looks striking against the dark Alcantara on the dash with the carbon seats. Aside from that, there were not many options however, my favorites would be anything blue. When it comes down to it, it just depends on how the car shows, how well it’s been taken care of, and records. ChallengeStradale.com - Ferrari 360 CS VIN ZFFDU57A140137794 (challenge-stradale.com)
Good question - not really sure. Some cars like f50 and laferrari get healthy premiums for non red cars. For cs rosso scuderia with stripe and alcantara interior under 5k miles seems to be the ones most sought after and most difficult to find. Personally if I added a second id go with argento with red black alcantara and no stripe
I do like Argentos with red black. Those are hard to find in the US. I ended up getting this thing. https://www.challenge-stradale.com/139604.html Argento with beige and stripe. Honestly, I would never spec a new car like this, but it looks great in person although I know it would not be everyone's cup of tea. The car will be delivered during the 1st week of DEC here in Japan. Can't wait! Most of these cars are butchered in Japan. Dual din stereos, aftermarket exhaust, and all the tools, etc are missing. This is fully original minus the radio which I can easily find. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great. I love my CS in silver. It had grey wheels from the factory but I’ve got a second set in silver I need to get some tyres for… And fit.
Never knew grey was a factory option. So cool. Was chrome an option? Saw a white one here with chrome wheels.
I knew this car wouldn't sell. Too many owners and then there are the visible issues, so we all know then there are 10x more hidden issues. I just didn't want to say anything more after people already got annoyed with me when I kept pointing out the half uninstalled stereo system. Who knows....maybe my comment ruined the auction, but I had to point out a fault if I see it. I wish someone would have done the same for me when I bought my CS. These aren't Toyota Camrys. Still probably wouldn't have been a bad car to buy and throw $40,000 and get it exactly where it needs to be, but obviously the market is soft and not everyone is as dumb as me.
