Halftime show Detroit Green Bay…that has got to be the most gawd awful “performance” ever. If that is considered music we have a problem.

    Me?
    Flame you for blaming officials?
Go back and find a post blaming officials for controlling games.

Bad calls are one thing - one where a call was missed OR was not an actual penalty,
but today - you really CAN call 'Holding' on literally 95% of the plays, but they seem to
be called on certain teams with certain leads with X amount of time on the clock so as to
impede a team from having time to catch up, or to preclude a team from scoring.

The worst phrase in all of college football is 'transfer from....'

And in the NFL it is 'automatic first down'.

Stephen A is the sports version of Al Sharpton - all mouth, all click bait, no ability AT ALL to admit when they are wrong, let alone aopogize.

Irsay is a bit removed from reality, but at the same time he IS reality, he has gone thru some ****.
His whining about getting pulled over because he is rich is a bit stupid - all he had to do was
submit to a sobriety test and he would have been on his way (if he passed the test), but instead
he chose to be an idiot.

    You.... actually watch halftime shows?
I don't think I've seen ANY halftime show since 'The Who' in the SB in 2010,
after that the NFL went all Rap - for the most part - and I turned it off.
(Not ALL rap - but nobody I cared to watch. Will they ever have a non-rap performer ever again?)

The idiot calling the Washington commandaskins plays….there’s a reason you aren’t a head coach. 3 and 1 in scoring position you ask the guy starting all of a dozen games to make a 25 yard throw instead of handing it off…and then on 4th and 1 run and get stuffed.

But that's what Washington does, if you have watched any of their games all season.
They live and die on the 15-20-25 yard passes - usually to the RB.
Gibson, Robinson, Samuel - that's what they do.

There are a lot of rumors as to why he is not a HC - some things I have read
over the years is he is as big of a reverse racist as there is, and he ran in gangs
when he grew up in LA, that sticks with you, regardless if it is false or not.

Some guys are just not HC material, I will never understand why team owners
don't understand that. There are guys that are AWESOME Coordinators - but never
won as a HC. They take 2-3 HC jobs, THEN they figure out they suck at it, and go back
to being coodrinators. Bill O'Brien is one, Wade Phillips is one, Josh McDaniels never
did anything without Brady as his QB, Vic Fangio, Brian Flores, I can name a ton of 'em.

Washington DOES have talent on offense - tons of it - but trading away your two best
edge rushers is stupid - unless you purely could not afford them, and they do need a
decent QB coach. Howell isn't that bad - if he would stop getting sacked.

I don't want to take anything away from the Eagles, but that was one of the worst officiated games this season. Philly is the best team in the league, they don't need any more help.

And, I thought the NFL wanted to protect QBs? The horsecollar tackle on Josh Allen was obvious and should have been called. If that was Brady or Mahomes, you can bet your life it would have been.

Philly is playing nowhere NEAR as good as their talent is.
I think losing both the OC and DC is noticeable.

To ME, Philly is teetering on losing a few games, or blowing some people out.
They seem to live and die with that 'tush push' play...
If KC had Smith and Brown they would be almost unbeatable.

Free agents in 2024: KC needs one of the top-5, the others, meh, I wouldn't touch:

    1. Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
    2. Michael Pittman, Indianapolis Colts
    3. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    4. Marquise Brown, Arizona Cardinals
    5. Calvin Ridley, Jacksonville Jaguars
    6. Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears
    7. Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals
    8. Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills
    9. Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
    10. D.J. Chark, Carolina Panthers
OBJ is a FA too, but you can visibly SEE he's nowhere near the same guy he was,
not when a normal CB can shadow his every move, and chase him down.
Most any other WR that KC can pick up is no better than anyone they already have.

I'm rooting for Philly but definitely there are issues there.... they should not be falling behind early as they have been.... agree that with their talent the OC and DC seem to be weak points

Of all the teams with 8+ wins right now...
    • Eagles
    • Ravens
    • Cowboys
    • Lions
    • Jaguars
    • Chiefs
    • Dolphins
    • 49ers
... I'd say s Superbowl between any of them would be a toss up... anyone can beat anyone on a good day.

I'd still put the top 4 as Eagles & 49ers in the NFC..... and Ravens & Chiefs in the AFC if the playoffs were right now.... but it's still an any-given-Sunday league

I still FIRMLY believe there is contrived funny business going on, there are just waaaaaaay too many TD's
being called back in close games, usually or the slightest of 'holding' penalties being called.
You can call 'holding' on every single play if you wanted to.

There is a direct correlation between penalties and points vs. point spreads and the over/unders,
it's just too easy for 'someone' to 'arrange' a penalty here and a TD there vs. a FG or someone not converting on 4th down.
Kelce's 'flinch' - TWO of them in the last two minutes - were a joke.
How many times have we seen a 4th and one with a team going for it turn into a 4th and six and a team punting????

Besides injuries, the main thing that separates a lot of teams are bad calls and turnovers (see: Jared Goff)

PS - the Dolphins - as much as I like them - are a fraud. Have they beat anyone yet with a winning record? Almost like Dallas?

The NFL is divided equally by the 32 owners and they pool and share all the revenue.

So the idea of "funny business" is certainly plausible as the owners collectively are always focused on making the entire league the best product possible...... and they know that certain media markets and fanbases are more profitable for them than others.

But in the heat of the moment during a football game...... I just cannot imagine that the ref on the field that's throwing the holding flag is that sophisticated to be considering the revenue implications of the game falling one way or the other...... as long as the refs are human, you are going to get human mistakes, and they tend to protect each other.

If the refs go away and you have Artificial Intelligence making calls..... that's also wired into live betting systems and TV rating demographic trackers..... that's when things could get crazy.

I'm not talking about funny business to decide a game, I'm talking for
it to decide if a team covers a point spread or not.
Scoring being down 25% over last season - seems a bit much,
since none of the rules affecting it have changed....
Look at MN - were 11-0 in games decided by one score or less last year,
this year, what are they? 5-6 or something like that?

There have been games this year some teams had no business winning, or losing, yet they did.
    MN beating SF? Really?
I thought I read somewhere that the bookies in Vegas are at less than 50% W-L this year... where they
    should be 55-56%.

I struggle to find any music I like past the year 1985! I despise Rap and had wished it to be a passing fancy, but sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case.

My favorite channel on SiriusXM is Symphony Hall, but I also listen to the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s channels, as well as the Beatles channel and Yacht Rock.

I find Stephen A. to be a loudmouth blowhard who just likes to hear himself argue. He reminds me a bit of Howard Cosell, but without Howard’s sense of humor. Whenever I see him on ESPN, I change the channel.

Cowherd is formulaic and backtracks way too much. The only guy imo that’s got real analysis and pov is Nick Wright. His style not for everyone but his message is good.

Eagles-Seahawks flexed to MNF. ANOTHER night game. I hate it. I think the last 10 games of their schedule this year had ONE game at 1:00 EST. Everything else late afternoon or night

It's not about Philly - it's about New England.
Even *I* would not watch a NE game - unless I wanted to see inept comedy.

A LOT of teams lose 'star' players, but they don't completely fall apart like NE has.

For example, Philly lost Donovan McNabb and the very next season went 10-6 and won the East.
((2009 with McNabb they went 11-5 and got destroyed by Dallas in the WC game - (10-4 with DM starting games))

I think they are purposely tanking for generational qb talent. That org doesn’t suddenly become stupid and not know how to put it together. I despise the cheating owner and coach but come on.
