Once again. in these witch hunts so beloved by some here, the actual reporting is devoid of actual facts. But this IS the F1 section of FC, where no slight, real or imagined, can’t be baked into a conspiracy.
Yet Andretti in the press stating he would do the same lol!!! Its not just Toto. See Steiner say the same thing and Stroll.
Via BBC F1 - another MBS produced needless drama is this thing from an F1 'tabloid'. This guy needs to take a long ride out of the FIA and p-ss off. He is not the Dictator of F1-- https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/67632663 The controversy comes in the wake of worsening relations between F1 and the FIA on a number of fronts. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said in February that he was stepping back from direct involvement in F1, a move that came after a series of controversies since he was elected president in December 2021. These included receiving a "cease and desist" letter from F1's lawyers following his reaction on social media to a story claiming Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund had tried to buy the sport for $20bn, and the emergence of a historic website that appeared to suggest he had made misogynistic remarks. He has sought to clarify the remarks in an interview with the Press Association. But insiders say Ben Sulayem is as heavily involved in F1 matters as ever, and F1 teams have viewed a series of incidents in recent months as having a direct link to Ben Sulayem. These include re-investigating Lewis Hamilton crossing the track during the Qatar Grand Prix, and calling Wolff and Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur to the stewards at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi after they swore in a news conference at the previous race in Las Vegas. A number of sources told BBC Sport at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last month that if Ben Sulayem continued to act in a manner senior figures considered to be detrimental to the sport, F1 owners Liberty Media would lose patience and consider breaking away from the FIA. This was already considered by F1 last year before relations between the two parties were smoothed over.

Given MBS is on record with such comments in the past and this is an FIA induced investigation based on nothing, and done in the press rather than discreetly, I applaud her. MBS can p-ss right off. The sport is worse off with him at the FIA. Farce is all this is. The BBC article showed a few new incidents and issues he continues to put his nose in needlessly. He is not helping and Liberty have also issued a statement against this as well. FIA joke via a literal tabloid. Sorry thats classless and useless. Very much like the leadership of MBS given his public statements about the intelligence of women etc. He is just a walking asshat. The FIA and F1 deserve better.
Everyone needs to be careful here because of the source of the story in the first post, who is well known as a hatchet man financed by various F1 interests over the last 30 years (the only way he's stayed in business). I have friends in F1 who were targeted by him in the past and won substantial damages in court. If MBS wants to play with him the same way as ** and ** did, they will be setting themselves for another high-profile legal case.
Mohamed Ben Sulayem wants to run the FIA like an autocrat. He doesn't understand concensus. What a difference with his predecessor, Jean Todt, who hardly ever pipped a word !
Some typos corrected... Total NON story as I posted earlier. This is a hit piece by a crap publication lol Mercedes F1 rivals all deny filing FIA complaint over Wolff allegations Formula 1 teams have united in denying that any of them complained to the FIA over allegations that triggered a compliance investigation against Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and wife Susie.
I don't understand what the specific allegations are if mere employment status is the issue, Susie should have never been offered the job. is there more to it? Mercedes getting inside line on the W Series/F1 Academy drivers? wgaf. not sure what else Susie would know that Toto wouldn't already know (or easily find out) on his own.
All this F1 scandal talk and internet gossip feels like a press campaign by Liberty to keep the fans involved as they chum the waters of next season. Just like all the shark stories that came out in the two months leading up to the release of Jaws, and the UFO stories that filled the news leading up to the premiere of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Remember folks, this isn't auto racing anymore, it's show biz.
Its the FIA leaders doing this. The tabloid leadership of MBS in action. Its actually a bad version of show-biz.
I could be wrong, but I think the rumors are that Susie somehow got confidential information about the budgets of other teams, particularly Red Bull, and then told Toto. When Red Bull were found to have gone over the budget cap, Mercedes knew about it before it was ever announced. Of course this would be in breach of confidentially and shows a conflict of interest as the reports are headlining. But it also puts a risk to any other information she gets. A big one would be the technical property of other teams since they have to submit CAD drawings of their designs.
^^^ Link (NOT PlanetF1) showing that Mercedes "knew" Red Bull was over budget before it was ever announced. And how would Mrs. Wolf, in her position, know ANYTHING about Red Bull's spending? Seriously, Mercedes (and Hamilton's) days are done...jeez, get over it already.
That's the point of this whole thing. If Susie knew, how did she find out and did she tell anyone? Even if the whole thing is plausible, it will go nowhere since there is no way to prove anything.
This has no point. The ****e publication will get clicks n free press. The FIA appears to be the reactionary and brain dead organization it is under MBS lol!!
Toto, if it turns out he was given information by Suzie, should be banned from F1, just as Flavio Briatore was.
Zero chance of definitive proof of anything so far. The FIA wont be banning anyone at all lol. Based on what - Hear-say? A publication known for lies!! This is tainted before it begins. Entertaining yet idiotic. The FIA we have is the worst in sometime. What next - investigate wrong shoe size ?? To be taken seriously it should have been a touch more discreet but MBS has the intellect of a flea on a good day. Also question those working for him overall.
If Toto said something he shouldn't have known, how did he hear it? He won't ever admit it's from his wife, obviously, nor would she openly tell she said it to him. No one can prove what was said at home. I think the Sheila Ann Rao saga was a lot more interesting to be honest. THAT was incredible. Merc rocks up with floor stays minutes after teams have told it was allowed? Impossible. The sudden change to what is and isn't allowed under the cost cap after teams produced their reports? Toto spreading rumours of RBR breaking the cost cap with Sheila, his ex confidante and in charge of the whole budget cap in the first place? He was 100% told by her. So if what was said in the meeting was true again, Toto still has a mole in the FIA. Who it is, we don't know, but if it was said it deserves to be investigated.
Bye Felicia...........I mean MBS LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL --With all teams denying they had lodged a complaint, it piled extreme pressure on the FIA to disclose precisely why it had decided to investigate the Wolffs. But on Thursday evening, a day ahead of the FIA Awards Gala, the governing body revealed that it was satisfied no conflict of interest could have taken place so the matter was dropped.-- FIA drops investigation into Toto and Susie Wolff The FIA has backed down from its highly controversial investigation into a potential conflict of interest between Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff and F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff.
I love how all teams literally copy and pasted the exact same release statement at pretty much the same time.
