Asif. I’m not a fan of crime. As much as I hate paying my taxes I’m proud of the fact that I do, unlike these ****s who do cash everything and **** over real Australians in the process. AshPan is right on this one. Money laundering ****s whom shouldn’t even be here.
But that’s the problem, Rob. All those other people have done in selling their nice house to these ****s is exactly what you’re saying you’ll do. Not much point complaining if you’re going to do the same thing.
And the amount of money laundering is just staggering, I don’t know how they get away with. A friend of mine works in the Chanel store and tells me they have a cash counting machine out the back. Pretty much a weekly occurrence having a Leb from southwest Sydney turn up with $100k in cash and buy bags etc

Even at the local supermarket in the lineup for the self service checkouts guess who it is who are always standing back waiting for the one or two machines that accept cash to become free? Meanwhile all the real taxpaying Aussies walk past and use their cards. It is absolutely everywhere. We had a guy do some work on the house several years ago and he absolutely would not accept anything except cash. I didn’t know this when he quoted for the job and I accepted the quote. This “cash only” crap only came up afterwards. We probably spent 20-30k with him. No invoice. No receipt. A **** job, and no discount for paying cash as far as I can tell. In hindsight, I’m an idiot for paying him. No way I would now. You want cash? Sure, and I want a tax invoice.
I’m a big fan of the what happened in Greece post 2008. The following law was enacted: “all suppliers of goods and services must issue receipts to their customers. The consumer is not obliged to pay if a receipt is not issued.”

Perfect. Why is it so hard for us to do exactly the same? I’ll take a guess why which won’t be popular amongst some - because certain politicians rely on the votes from certain people in their electorate who would be exactly the type of people we’re talking about. What western Sydney Labor pollie (or Labor pollie from many other similar areas) would possibly support a bill like Greg has mentioned? None. We’ve already seen where their morals are with their reaction to the atrocities of October 7.
