Not a chance. It will have 700 HP from the engine and 40-50 kg less. Just as stated above. There's a lot of room to make the 296 more raw and engaging.

My prediction is Ferrari claims 2.75 seconds 0-100 (.1 better than the Pista) and 6.8 or 6.9 seconds to 0-200 implying its slightly quicker than the SF90 from a roll but still not quite as quick from a standstill to that mark. We shall see.

Not if the SF90 XX (or whatever it is called) is faster than the 296 VS

I am looking for an even better aero story on the 296 VS than the GT3 RS and the upcoming Mustang GTD. This would mean more than 800kg of downforce, an active drag reduction system marketed as F1 tech, a non functional frunk filled with intercoolers, S ducts and other active aero bits. Variable suspension height like multimatic is doing for Ford, like Amg One. Following the gentlemen weekend racer theme the ability to adjust from steering wheel, suspensions settings, differential, aero etc. We are looking for the new mid engine halo car of the modern era. Sans hybrid would be cool but then again a big F1 tech marketing opportunity for battery boost .

If those things didn't happen with the SF90 XX, they certainly won't with the 296 VS.

I agree - I would think the SF90 XX is the place for them to have the maximum downforce, etc. The ethos of the 296 is “fun to drive” (pardon my use of their over used phrase). I would imagine things that help the car be more playful and engaging in your hands. It will be plenty fast, but that will not be its reason for being.

I would rather beat my ballsack with a hammer than spend 300,000 on a mustang and or choose a mustang over a Ferrari/GT3 RS

I'm considering an allocation for a 296 GTB/S just to make sure I get the VS. Dealer already has the money. I imagine that'll be a VERY fun car.

The dealer took your deposit on a car that hasn't been announced/released yet?

No, sorry, I wasn’t clear. I have the deposit in for a regular production 296, just undecided gtb or GTS.

Is there any chance that 296VS will be using some technology from f250 (Laf successor)? Considering it will be unveiled approximately one year after the F250.

I’m not. I’m looking for something along the lines of the 765LT. I’d guess Ferrari thinks “if you can afford a 296 for the road, you can afford a 296 challenge for the track.” Or something like that. That’s why they won’t make a road car that’s barely usable on the road like the 3RS.

since the SF90 xx is sold out.... I would hope they would make a 296 xx (or whatever the call will be called... ie 488 pista) then there is the 296 ????

Why wouldn't they? Mark it up another 100k and add some body enhancements and 20 more hp. No brainer.

I'm seriously wondering how it will look. The 296 is already extremely attractive to me. I hope they don't put a wing on it. Interested to see how the front and rear bumpers will look or if they will do an overhaul of the lights like the sf90xx.

Obviously I don’t know anything, but I wouldn’t expect it to have a fixed wing. That seems specific to XX designs.

I hope they copy everything but give it an active aero wing like the 720/750/765LT. It won’t have this probably but that would be my preference.

The GT3 car is so nice looking though that even if it looks just like that with or without the wing it will be amazing.
