Especially the louvered fenders and that straight vertical edge with venting behind the wheel - like an F40 or Enzo fender.
Also the hood opening. I think the 296's hood is a bit too plain currently. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does have someone any other news? The second big spot is a new version of the plug-in hybrid 296 GTB. CarBuzz recently discovered several trademarks filed by Ferrari. One was for 296 Speciale, while the other was for 296 Mugello. We all know what Speciale means, and Mugello suggests something with even more track focus. On the prototype spotted here, changes appear at each end. The standard 296 has a single exhaust outlet, but this prototype has two fairly prominent pipes. The integrated spoiler appears slightly taller, but the diffusers below are a lot more aggressive and the hood has a vent. All of this points to this car being the 296 Speciale. I like the aesthetics of what appears to be going on. Pista, F8 or SF90 style hood all look really good to me. This appears to similar to SF90 like you said, I agree. Probably something to do with it being a hybrid. maybe the Mugello will be ICE and will have an S-Duct!
The ferrari designed should really get aggressive with the design. Like the porsche GT3 RS. If you want a little less racer….. then buy the 296. Come on FERRARI we need more engaging cars, I was at DRT in Miami last weekend. What an amazing, amazing Porsche event, I ran into a guy that can afford anything he wants and he only buys Porsches today because he says ferrari is too civilized and not as engaging as the Porsche experience. I would tend to agree
both (296 vs and new SF90) will be unveiled next year and it seems that 296 VS will have fixed wing like SF90 XX. This could be the 296 vs Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting to see how much more they would charge for a 296VS and how close that price will get to the SF90 replacement msrp ?
That pic is not of a 296 VS prototype. Previous published pics clearly show a ‘488 pista like’ front . This front looks standard .
ok. my bad. sry. this above (full covered) is a SF90. right... didn´t know that there will be a successor. so still no real 296 SV news. i hope it will be more aggressive. as somehow the SF90XX is... and hopefully even as wild as my beloved 992 GT3 RS.
I am interested in the VS. That said, if it has no lift, is too hard core and looks like the sf90 XX I will probably pass. The XX is trying far too hard. If I want a track car I will buy a track car. (or more seat time in a high end sim like coolperformance.com)
^^ but the thing is as old as the automotiv: If cars win races. We want to own and drive those cars. Best also on a Sunday on public roads. Nothing is more real in terms of history. Especially also for Ferrari. So the 296 GT3 should get (next to the 296 Challenge below) another proper and street legal sister. the 296VS. Should not sound rude or something; But for you is the SF90 and 296GTB/GTS the correct model for the road. Of course there are people which will prefer a 296GTS and a 296 Challange as package. But thats possible. And nobody should say that a 296VS should not be so extrem or hard. The 992GT3RS is filling the gap best between a Base Carrera and a Cup Car. Between GT3 and Cup (as i would compare it with the 296 line) the RS could be even more on the Cup-side ... as i would like also the 296VS. https://www.instagram.com/p/C2pr-YrKZZa/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’d never own a car that looked like that. 296 is elegant. I hope Ferrari is restrained in how they add aggression to the car.
Now we are talking!!!! Ferrari needs to build this... they have the exotic elegant GTB and GTS version and then have this race inspired VS version !!!!!
love the photos of the vs version above, if you want a legal street racer, lets get Ferrari to build it.... Porsche has the GT3 RS, McLaren has 765 and Lambo has the STO. They are all weekend street racers.....I am in for one ... Ferrari also has the elegant version as well, so win-win
With the challenge car getting rid of the hybrid bs... That will only mean one thing for the road car. I'm calling it- no hybrid bs! And it's going to be even closer to the challenge car I bet.
