812 Replacement Rumors

The F12 debut was 2012 and the F167 will be debuting in 2024. Considering inflation over 12 years a 2012 dollar will be worth about $1.45 in 2024. In real terms the F167 will cost less than 72% more. Not a bargain by any means but then again considering the near term resale values of new Ferraris is still quite a bit higher in recent years, Ferrari Corporate doesn’t want to leave money on the table.

Prices of new and used cars have rised 20- 30% or so just in past 5 years.
Ferrari is no exception .

I think some of you gentlemen may have missed the sarcasm in my previous post. I am sure the 167 will be a jolly good car and by all accounts it would seem to be pretty and a touch smaller again. Which, let’s face it, after the fat boy XL 812 can only be a good thing. It won’t however, be so all singing and dancing that it will effectively be 2-2.5 times the car than an F12 is.

 

Not as English a forum as PH mate. While I probably agree and love my F12, I've never specced my own V12 before and really want to.

Here’s an irony. There is a thing called the Peter Principle (no idea who Peter was). It basically talks about promoting people until the point of their incompetence is reached. The commercial team at Ferrari will be careful to make sure they don’t just keep increasing price ‘because they feel they can’. But human nature is such that there will probably come a model, let’s assume it is a brilliant product, where they overcook it so that many people sit back and think “I just can’t pay that for this car” even if the car is absolutely brilliant and they are Ferrari fans who really love the brand. Then the car sells much fewer than planned.

And the irony? After 20 years it would be worth a fortune!

That exact car has a name : 458 Speciale

 

It looks like its for a single seater, Center drive position. Specially given the Joysticks are either side of the seat, its either a Video game, 1/2 scale kids toy or a track car as with those Joysticks it would never be road legal

 

One offs are very hit or miss but this one's one of my favorites

 

I hope it's a joke! Come on! We are talking about a CAR. A special V12 na car, a dying car specie but still a car! This joystick solution patent is very interesting but for people with disabilities.. but the 167 will be a regular car! You can see this from several and several mulotypes and prototypes
I say this as an airplane enthusiast - in all honesty I don't see anything that has aeronautical inspiration either in Ferraris or even in the much exasperated Lamborghinis. Yes, some reference and quotation made with taste by Flavio Manzoni. More than aeronautical, the Lamborghinis seem to be produced by Lucas Film today on Disney+ for Star Wars.

 

Regarding the integration of the exhaust systems, not for anything else

ssssshhh don't let the cat out of the bag. But on the down low I will tell you,
it will have more Wings and Bolt ons than a ricer aftermarket kit car. Forget fighter plant we are talking Alien spaceship here...

 

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's the new Ferrari V12.

 

If it’s like a ricer, maybe it will have exhausts as big as garbage cans.

 

And perhaps air intakes big enough to swallow pets and children whole!

Does this mean exhaust outlets on each side of the car like in old fighter jets? Similar to viper side exits?
