Yea... I mean when the "Texans" first started as an expansion team, they should have gotten back the Oilers name on day-1..... everyone in Houston always hated the "Texans" name.
Tennessee missed a huge opportunity when they did not name their franchise The Tuxedos. Titans was an old NY team name, remember? Also, in keeping with all of the great Texas traditions, the Dallas team should have been named the Dallas DFRs.
I know Houston has been trying to get the 'Oilers' name back, but I don't know how hard, usually money talks.... and the Houston ownership spends NONE. But also, 'oil' is a bad word now...
I think Bill is OK, defense isn't the problem. I think every assistant or position coach on offense needs to go, and they need a new GM that knows how to draft AND is not overruled by Bill. ALL of Bill's kids that are coaches need to go. They are also about to embark on the 'musical kickers' game as well...
didn't make it that much longer! the GM too... I wonder if this becomes the Belichick job? He doesn't seem like an "LA" kind of guy?
Sean McVay: “I know what a great coach Brandon Staley is and he has a bright future“ You have to be kidding….dude was a total d bag in his press conferences. Not fit to lead the NFL team or any company with that fck off attitude.
I just don't see him on the west coast. I wonder if that idiot in Carolina is calling him? That guy is dumb enough to give Bill EVERYTHING he wants... Uh, there is another HC clown that is a total D Bag in press conferences, and he resides in Foxboro.... And with that, I proclaim: 'I'm only thinking about the next game....'..... 'On to the next game....'.... Beyond that, what would you expect McVay (or any coach) to say other than he (Staley) is a great coach? I read long ago, if a coach sucked, all the other coaches he goes up against will do nothing but praise him, because they don't want him to get fired. Because he sucks and the other coaches know he's an easy 'W', the last thing they want is a good coach to have to go up against... Might have been Bill Self that said this.
I was on Draft Kings trying to find the Over/Under if he makes it past 10am PST today, he was over, by about 5 minutes.
There is a long Boston connection between Dave Tepper owner of the woeful Panthers, and Bill B. Carolina is a crap franchise with a crap team in a crappy stadium that no one wants to play for. I get weekly notices from Vivid Seats and you can get in to see a game for $ 25.
Yea but I think posted before in this thread…. If you’re Bill B, what’s your priority now? Carolina would probably be the best pay day. But not a fast path to winning. That’s still a complete rebuild situation and I think Bryce Young is a dud compared to CJ Stroud. Also, given that Bill is in 70’s! I’d think he just wants that all time wins record from Don Shula. His problem though is Andy Reid is right behind him looking to pass him soon after with another 5+ years of Pat Mahomes.
Ok, I know I will have some **** flipped at me for saying this, but I have never heard Tepper talk before, and when I did for the first time when he fired Frank, and I heard that Boston accent, that explained a lot... Would Tepper be Ok with someone else coming in and running all of his hedge funds for him? Of course not, so why is Tepper trying to run a sports team when he knows nothing about it? Carolina WAS a good franchise - 12 years ago - when they actually spent money - AND drafted well.
Tepper also owns the CLT MLS team and has been through a head coach every year I think. Let's Go Bills!
If he plays this season they are ALL idiots, because if he just isn't a solid 100%, if he hurts that achilles again, he is out for ALL of 2024. The Jets 'window' is closing, because they have three bonifide STARS that are going to want to BE PAID after 2024, and they won't keep all three. Breece Hall, Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson.
They went all in with a good young D, some nice pieces on O, and Rodgers but they got unlucky. Love that they tried as opposed to being putrid as usual.
