haha.........have said it before, and will say it again. This is a Coke/Pepsi thing. All preference. Both brilliant cars. Were all lucky and blessed to have the choice between them..............im quite certain no matter todays values all Pista owners can swap to Speciale and vice versa if they wanted to.
It's not the destination it's the journey. And that famous phrase also includes the method of travel!
One thing I like having switched from the TTv8 to the slow one ([emoji6]), driving around town I can put my foot into it more. With the Pista, I was always feathering around since it was so responsive and quick, and with the Speciale, I’m “allowed” to push it more.
Today on dupont, 9 Pista spyder, average asking price at low 700K. Only one 458 SA at 935K. The price of Coke is same as Pepsi. That is a personal preference difference. When the price of 458 SA is persistently 30% more than Pista spyder, it is not a personal preference but a reflection of how special 458 SA is. No one who can afford to have a 458 SA to begin with is willing to even sell it. I would not sell it if I have one today. There is a reason why people sold their 488 and go back to 458..
ahh yes. we all agree. Speciale is nice and soft. and wont hurt you like the beast the k. but you aren't comparing two things made at the same time in the same quantities. so none of what you said is relevant. also, do you not think there are as many or more people that are happy they went from 458 to 488 as there are with your claim (that they go back to 458 from 488)? Again, coke or Pepsi. Your Value attempt on the Aperta is only due to a very limited production run in conjunction with it being the last NA. but again that does not make it a better car. It just makes it more collectible.........at the moment.
Why is that a problem and yes they are driven or exercised as i like to say? However, it is more supply and demand in case you're wondering. I feel very lucky to own a SpecialeA now and many years ahead regardless of mileage. Just say no to turbo's.
The time I appreciate Speciale's NA engine most is when delicately modulating throttle through high-speed S-curves in Alps. You just don't have that same degree of feel with Turbo engine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh, I didn't imply it's a better car at all. It is a better collectible at this point in time. If Pista were last natural aspirated engine, its collectibility is different.
It' great that you drive your Speciale, but the majority of people do not. For example, there is a 2014 Speciale on BAT that has 7k on the ODO, which is probably one of the higher mileage examples out there. This is unfortunate because the collectability of the car weighs like an anvil on the car in terms of an owner's willingness to drive it. This is true 3x over the Aperta.
understood. and my only point weeks ago was that the last "all motor" unassisted ICE Ferrari is just as significant of a milestone as "last NA" is, if not more. and the Pista will have the same type of collectability moment . Both incredible cars, and both absolutely beautiful.
Took the Speciale for my first spirited drive in the mountains around SoCal. What a treat. What lack in speed I noticed compared to the Pista was quickly forgotten with the bellow of the exhaust against the rock walls. Intoxicating. So happy to have that car in the garage now.
Lucky You and you made your luck out in the mountains of S.C. with your own ICE to rock around with and without those turbo's. I highly recommend that my problem is, its shut down for the winter here, and really has been for a few weeks but here, you never know when it is going to put the salt trucks out for battle. All in good health.....PS, I do own a supercharged car and thats good for me, I do not like turbo's at all now matter what....But the NA's just have it goin on
oh my. is that CGT silver or white? cant tell with the shadows but it must be silver. fantastic stable. love the driveway as well
I'm sure this has been viewed by most but here is Chis Harris on all the Special V8 Ferrari's. I just picked up a Scud, I know it wasn't included in the original post, but it's a amazing car. Comparison starts at the 5:30 min mark.
Thank you … Carrera white I’m partial to white [emoji51] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After owning a Pista, I appreciate the Speciale more. I could never get in the speciales l, but now I get it. They sound the best of the v8s, they look great and frankly the speed the Pista carries over it doesn't make much difference on the road. After I get bored of the 296 I think Speciale ownership needs to happen. The solid black one posted here has me only thinking of Speciales lately.
Something as simple as the vibration of the high-revving Speciale engine transferring into my shoulder blades via the carbon fiber shelled seats when it hits certain resonance just amplifies the excitement of driving it. It's more like a 4 wheeled motorcycle.
A different black one, this one in Nero Daytona... "clean" spec car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ha thanks for the extra motivation My dealer has a silver one, zero interest in that one. NERO on NERO was my first ferrari combo
