There was a Nero/Nero stripeless one that recently sold in Vegas... but it had leather interior, which sort of runs counter to racy nature of Speciale.

Agreed. Above 8000 RPM is when the fun starts. Gets angry just like a GT3.

It sounds like an angry vacuum cleaner. Fun car, horrible stock exhaust.

That's what aftermarket exhausts are for...

No it doesn't sound like an angry vacuum cleaner.....it just sounds angry. I personally like the exhaust. I must say tho, the best sounding ones come from the first muscle car era. Big cubic inch engines, solid lifter cam's 1/2 unburned fuel coming out of the exhaust just is wicked bad.

I went from an Italia to a speciale and I did consider an aftermarket exhaust, but the sound has grown on me and she will stay still stock.

Speciale or GT3? All of the new cars sound comparatively terrible with the GPF…Speciale definitely does not sound like a vacuum.

I agree. Aside from the 288 GTO and F40 it is without question the greatest Ferrari V8 car ever made. (And for the owner who likes to drive frequently it is better than both the 288 GTO and F40.)

In the end, they both pick the Speciale over the Pista.

Looks like there are now only 5 Speciales for sale on Ferrari's site. They're being gobbled up!

    Autotrader has 14

Cars.com show 12 but I agree, selection is usually around 20 or so

458 Italias being gobbled up as well. In spite of being regular production model produced in larger quantities, down to 53 on Autotrader, sub-10k mile examples few/far between.....

Seems most of these are “higher mileage.” Interesting to see what they are going for.

Took the Speciale out for a quick ride. Still in awe of this car since I bought it new 9 years ago. From a fun perspective we seem to have gone backwards since. Although 812/GTS is the closest new car that fills the gap IMO.

812GTS was the one car I'd keep if I could only have one....until I got the Speciale, now I don't know!

Wish I kept my speciale. But when I got my 765 home I immediately sold it. The difference was just, other worldly really. As time has passed though I miss the speciale more and more. If I get another one it would be my 4th 458 :/ lol
