this car is 100% the car I'd buy. perfect color combo / rims / everything. too many cars... not enough $....
Inspection by previous prospective buyer revealed that one of the LEDs in the parking light is not working. Inspection also revealed that NAV screen opener is not working. Evidently both of these are very common issues with these cars and are simple and straightforward to remedy. I never tried to use the antiquated NAV system in my seven+ years of ownership, as it was always used as a point A to point A car. I never noticed the single light bulb being out, as I never use the park lights. I offered to repair these minor defects or discount the price accordingly, but the previous prospective purchaser has cold feet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also worth noting: The car was just fitted with a new battery for extra peace of mind. The fact that the original battery lasted 17 years is quite remarkable. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A 17 year old battery? What, are you reading bedtime stories to it? I think this proves once again that a person is either 'just an owner' or a caretaker. We know in which category you belong. The right next caretaker will appear!
There is absolutely no pulling or sagging in the alcantara headliner. I never had an umbrella that came with the car. Did they have one in 07’? In any event, I never drive anything but my “wet car” anytime there is even a mild threat of rain, so I’ve never had a need for one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A 2006 model optioned nearly identically that appears to be a bit more weathered than the example on offer here just sold for $55K + fees ($57,787 all in) on BaT yesterday. Certainly someone must see the value here? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-aston-martin-v8-vantage-51/
Great price on your car. If I didn't have my Vantage I would jump on yours. I have the 2020 for sale.
Your car at your ask is priced well, IMO. If it's only listed here, that limits the number of eyes seeing the ad. 6speedonline might be a good place to list it, as they have a pretty active AM community. The Nav issue may be a PO removed the gears, some do that as they don't like the nav; I had one (bought from this forum) and the PO set it up that way on purpose. Easy fix I understand, though I never bothered and sold it that way as well. Only reason I sold mine was my plate got too full, I needed to downsize. They're fantastic cars, and almost cliche to say, likely the best value out there. They were ~$115k cars when new, now can be had for the price of a Honda minivan. It's nuts. Build quality is fantastic and the V8V is among the best-looking car designs of the last 25 years, easy. Plenty of people rack up the miles on them with little trouble, and there's some good enthusiast/DIY support out there for them as well through Redpants.lol and his youtube channel.
Agree with every word! These cars are pretty much bullet proof, super easy to DIY maintain and yes Redpants.lol is a great resource for that. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. Had a 2011 manual and I regret selling it, but I don't have room right now, otherwise I'd snap this up. This car is the perfect spec for its year, GLWS! I have looked into this. It appears to have been an option, as the cars that I have seen with the umbrella have little straps that hang down from the roof of the forward part of the boot. Evidently, the original purchaser of this car who ordered it saw no value in having the umbrella, as they liked to take care of their car and not drive it in the rain. The "smokers kit" was also not ordered with this one either. It appears that they ticked all of the other boxes except for the crumby paddle gearbox though. In any event, if an umbrella is a deal breaker, I will be happy to provide an "Original" Aston Martin umbrella with the car. The umbrella can be had for $170 here: https://www.astonstore.co.uk/product/7g43-700712-bc/
I agree with OP - the umbrella is quite silly. It is stored in an inaccessible location, and you'd get soaked trying to retrieve the umbrella and similarly soaked when putting it away and getting into the car. I never used mine either. GLWS. I loved my V8 Vantage; it was always a treat to see it in the garage, smell that wonderful leather, and most of all... drive it !
Nice bonus the owners manual is present; often it's missing and it's $400 or so to find a used one. If you'll throw an umbrella into the deal, I don't know what more a potential buyer could ask.
But wait, there is more: I have a complete workshop manual that goes with the car: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also forgot to mention the car comes with a fitted sun shield that folds up neatly in the boot to save the leather dashboard if you ever park the car in the sun. Far more useful than an umbrella in my opinion. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Awesome, awesome car, and well-priced. I've had my manual '07 for 5+ years now and put 30,000 trouble free kilometres on it (bought with 9k, now just about to hit 40 when it comes back out in the spring). It's been absolutely bulletproof. A couple of common things are the timing cover gasket that always leaks on 4.3 Vantages, but it's a one-and-done job if it is indeed seeping. Many of them had it rectified early on within warranty period. The nav screen is almost certainly the stripped gears; RedPants sells them super cheaply, or you can just let it be, because like you, I have NEVER used the nav screen in that car. Aston Installations sells a wicked CarPlay/Android Auto setup for these that modernizes them, and there is a great aftermarket for tuning/suspension/etc. that really wakes these cars up. I track mine pretty extensively and it's held up beautifully, minus toasting the tires/brakes accordingly. Good luck with the sale OP! I agree with the 7 spoke wheels. They are my favorite wheel for this body style Vantage, regardless of year.
