The new series has nothing to do with the original. For details you can refer to this website:

There is no real difference. You might regard the second series as just a continuation of the first. As with the first series, the second series volumes each contain several Ferrari-related articles in a hard-backed book of identical dimensions to those of the first series.

I struggle to remember these but there are:
I Love GTO (published by Arnoldo Mondadori) that covers 1982 (20th anniversary)
GTO The Anniversary (published by ACLA) that covers 1987 (25th)
GTO Book (published by Fink Presse) that covers 2007 (45th)

No doubt someone can add the others.

Do you know if a book have ever been published with the Klemantaski pictures of the 57 Mille Miglia ?

I mean, not just as an illustration, but something that would tell the story of Klemantaski's Mille Miglia.
It's a bit late for Christmas, but my father-in-law often tells me about his childhood memories of the Mille Miglia (he's a historian and has even written a little book on the subject) and I think it would be something really interesting for him. These photos are so vivid!

This book offers fantastic stuff about Klemantaski and the MM 1957:

    https://www.palawan.co.uk/product/klemantaski-himself/

You can go for the Himself book, because although the Portfolio is gorgeous, it just shows a few pictures of the MM. Himself offers more and tells the story of Klemantaski's participation.

Oh thanks ! And the Portfolio is rather on the expensive side – i may as well buy some pictures and make my own booklet ;-)

In fact, I'm just going to go to the photo shop and make a nice print of this famous photo, which I already have in a very good quality file, because it was taken a few kilometres from the village where he lived as a child.... I'm sure it will bring back memories for him to see behind the scenes.

Another disappointment with this Palawan book is the thinness of the cover - the binding side is not rigid enough, so it does not stay flat and shows unwanted shadows (btw, I'm not sure my English writing is understandable, but those having the book may catch what I'm saying).
I'm still looking forward to a eighties book though, since it will echo more personal memories (as old as I am, I was still too young in most of the 70s to be really interested in motor racing).

It would be a short book because he didn't have any spare film with him so only took what was in his camera (24 pictures maybe? I'm not sure exactly how many shots). He did also write an article about at least one of the Mille Miglias he took part in. I think it was 1957. Not as well known as the Denis Jenkinson piece on the '55 race though because he and Collins didn't win.

    @seb333 @jtremlett @Buchpilot

Thank you all for your replies. Two more questions:

Is there a source for purchasing any of these? (Except 2007 which I already have).
Has a book been done for the recent 60th anniversary tour?

    Thanks again.

Where to buy? Well, look for the usual suspects in the online world ;)

60th anniversary tour: to my knowledge, there hasn’t been a book published, and unfortunately, Canossa Events didn’t answer my enquiry whether there would be a book.

    Here is the answer:
"...Armed with two Leica cameras, each carrying a roll of 36-exposures and fitted with a 28mm lens, Klemantaski had taken his marvellous photograph only when, as co-driver, he could look up from his long roll of pace notes. Such was the pace of the Mille Miglia, there wasn’t even time to reload the cameras. Over the 10 and a half hours of the event Louis could take, at most, 72 photographs..."

They are not so easy to chase nowadays, that will be a case of patience in the second hand market to get them all...
I’m looking for the 45th, at an acceptable price...

And mind you: 'I love GTO' (1982) has been published in two editions: a ubiquitous softback edition and a rare hardback edition.

Sorry to be a bit off topic, but does someone (@Buchpilot ?) has a book with this picture featured ?
The Klemantaski Collection website call it "an overtook by the lake" and says it's by the Bolsena lake that can be seen on the right.
Well having now a pair of prints (I'm framing one for myself too), plus the original Getty file of that picture, I'm a bit confused. What i see on the right looks more like mountains in the distance, not a lake.
And according to the 1957 Mille Miglia map, the lake should be on the left of the road, not on the right... (you can seen the lake north of Viterbo, a bit after Roma)

OK, if the answer is in the book, maybe I'm not that far off the topic...

I'm leaving for Tuscany next Monday morning – and hit a few stretch of the 1000 miglia road on my way there – would love to find an answer before ;-)

To me it looks like blue water below the road if you look between the guard rail and the curb.
