    Image Unavailable, Please Login I have an early carbureted 308 with a dry sump engine. My oil filter adapter only has the electric pressure switch and no oil lines attach to it. It appears to be leaking from the gasket at the base of the adapter. It looks like three nuts and off it comes. Anyone change one of these?

    Before you remove it, try nip those 3x nuts up a little bit as it may seal the gasket up and stop the leak. :)

    I have a wet sump engine, but, yes, three nuts and off it comes. Cleaning the gasket surface of previous gasket material is the only (not very) difficult part of the operation.

    That was my first choice too but I put the wrench on them and they were tight. I might back them off a bit and then see but they seemed to have a lot of tension

    They are tight, but try for another 1/8th of a turn tighter on them. Just don't snap those studs. :oops::oops:

    Best to just put a new gasket in.
