They usually do well with their launches so I am expecting the same but I am expecting a lot better results for them in 2024 than they had in 2023 with all the upgrades in the car.

All we can do is wish them luck...and hope for the best. The rules against open testing is destroying the sport and causing the massive cost increases.

I guess I should start an "F1 2024 launch dates and livery reveal" thread?

DF1 Three Time F1 World Champ

Possibly. I can scan around and see if anyone else is offering a launch date. No other announcements floating about. Ferrari 1st to announce. I think we can combine testing and reveal? A few teams used Bahrain test to also reveal/launch I think.....

Not much now in terms of new contract for either Ferrari driver -

Ferrari in 'no rush' to agree new Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz contracts, says team principal Fred Vasseur
Neither Charles Leclerc nor Carlos Sainz have put pen to paper on a new Ferrari contract according to team boss Frederic Vasseur; 2023 was Vasseur's first season in charge of Ferrari and they were the only team to claim a race victory during Red Bull's record-breaking campaign

"We are not in a rush to extend the deals but have started discussions. Mercedes did it in August. We are not in a rush at all," Vasseur told Sky Italy.

"This season, I was expecting to do it before the end of the year. But the season was a huge one and we have started the discussion. But, again, we are not in a rush."

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to receive new Ferrari deals
And Vasseur said it is his aim to make sure both Leclerc and Sainz have shiny new contracts before the F1 2024 action gets underway, the drivers set to return to Maranello from their winter break on January 9-10.

“They were exhausted, but we all are,” Vasseur said, quoted by Formu1a.uno. “After Abu Dhabi there was testing, then an event in Saudi Arabia and then back here to work on the simulator. Now it’s good to have 2-3 weeks off.

“The aim is to renew them before next season, yes.

“The last part of the year was a bit of a chaos and we have only recently started the renewal discussions. We are behind Mercedes, which announced the renewals of both its drivers in August, but this is not a problem.”

Ferrari is a team that in the past has not shied away from deploying a first and second driver, Sainz having at various points in his Ferrari tenure been faced with speculation that he could fall into this role alongside Leclerc.

That is yet to happen and Vasseur assured both drivers receive equal treatment at Ferrari, which he believes is evidenced in the similar points tallies posted for F1 2023, Leclerc scoring 206 points to Sainz’s 200. Sainz meanwhile was the only non-Red Bull grand prix winner of the season, taking the chequered flag in Singapore.

“We have two drivers who finished with almost the same score,” Vasseur pointed out.

“We had been here talking about first driver and second driver and I had assured them that they would be treated equally. And I think we have proved that.”

Sainz will be hoping for more than just the one victory next season with Leclerc also wanting in on the action, as the chasing pack look to apply pressure on Red Bull after their record-breaking F1 2023.

Vasseur confirmed that both drivers have been fully involved with the development of Ferrari’s F1 2024 challenger, but urged caution over expectations going into the upcoming campaign.

“The two drivers are fully involved in the development,” Vasseur confirmed. “They were also quite happy, but that is no indication of how the season will go.”

Ferrari are still searching for their first F1 title triumph since winning the Constructors’ Championship in 2008.

Like every winter some usual Italians journalists or bloggers talked about how improved the new Ferrari Formula One will be compared with the previous one.
This is ridiculous ( 30 pts of Downforce gaining, 7 tenths faster etc…)
Which is new is that a reasonable part of them decided to be realistic :
No more bullshits is their mantra.
They are strongly believing Vasseur is doing a serious job in the background but don’t want to be fooled by unfounded rumors.
    Positive mindset I would say..

Ferrari has lost the major financial pull factor of the Decreto Crescita law, also known as the ‘Beckham Rule’, as its abolishment means foreign recruits can no longer be enticed by tax relief.

The Ferrari F1 team is in a further period of transition as it looks to end its title drought, which has been ongoing since 2008, with several key figures having departed the team in recent times – such as race director Laurent Mekies, chief engineer David Sanchez and Ferrari Driver Academy boss Marco Matassa.

But, should Ferrari wish to look outside of Italy to bolster their ranks in search of fresh title glory, then they will no longer have the financial incentive of the Decreto Crescita law at their disposal.

Nicknamed after footballing icon David Beckham, who took advantage of Spain’s tax-reducing laws to attract elite and/or wealthy foreign talent, Italy introduced their own version of the ruling in 2019, allowing sporting outfits like Ferrari to target foreign talent with the allure of zero tax on the first 70-90 per cent of their income if they came to Italy to work for them.

However, the Decreto Crescita law is no longer active, with the start of 2024 having marked its end.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur had already spoken about the added difficulties which Ferrari face compared to the UK-based teams when it comes to hiring staff, since bringing people in from outside of Italy means a complete change of lifestyle.
