Thanks! Going to reach out to them. Any thoughts from the community on this car is much appreciated. VIN doesn’t pull up any history.
For a last year M-GT It seems to be priced about right, with some room to negotiate. I see the correct silver centercaps. Drivers side door leather is a little separated, would expect some elsewhere (ceilings or rear deck.) Dash looks good. Cant tell if its the angle or if the glove box has a slight sag on the outside under the badge. Not enough pictures to assess mechanics. Call and see what they have about records and history. How long ago have those 14k miles been put on the car? How long has it been sitting What would your plans be.... investment car with minimal use or ready to get out and enjoy? Planned expenses may be different for each.
I haven’t looked over the pictures a ton, but that looks like a very realistic price given the mileage and color pairing. Not in the market to spend that right now, but for someone who is it looks like a great enjoy/invest pick
Nice one too. Figure $9k or so to get it here… https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1998-ferrari-456m-gt/
That's one of the best MGT manuals I've ever seen. If a couple of things were different, I'd already own it.
It is by far my favorite color. I tried to track down a 2000 Rosso Fiorano GTA (sold out of CA). I called the selling dealer offering absolutely stupid money to see if he could contact the owner. The sales guy told me he would never sell a 456 again due to all of the issues hahaha. Ended up with a Nero 2003 M GTA with Daytonas and piping. Love it.
Thanks for the quick rundown. I'll try to get more photos, etc. Thats one place where buying on BringaTrailer is a benefit. I plan on getting it out and enjoying it. No garage queens in my house, but certainly no where near a daily. Just weekend runs with the kids and hoping to get involved with the local Ferrari Club. It would be a compliment to my 992 GT3 and be replacing my CTS-V Wagon. -Josh
Thanks Eric. All you have to do is open your check book and drop off your car for two months...but I think "you" are already familiar with that.
Yeah, god bless that rascal…it was partly my fault cause I didn’t pressure him at all. At the time I wanted to be overly pleasant because I was new to him and frankly grateful
It only takes a couple of transactions to figure someone out. But you have to make those transactions.
Getting more info on this car, but from what I have so far, it was pretty rough and received quite a bit of reconditioning... including repainting the whole front end. Seems like a fairly neglected car even though it's low mileage.
Euro Spec; model year assigned by initial sale/registration date for many sales on the continent (not universal; varies by country)
Yes, euro car. I was surprised to see an airbag steering wheel. I thought all euro cars did not have airbag steering wheels.
Hi, from 1995 all Euro spec cars also had air bags. My 1995 GT went to Japan when new and thus no airbag. Prior to 1995 there was no air bag and therefore the 1993-1994 cars were not sold new in USA, also the GTA first became available in 1995. Cheers!
Not quite correct. US law mandated driver and passenger airbag starting in model year 1996. Hence why the F512M and F50 are both 95 only in the US. The 456’s delayed arrival to US shores was merely a reflection of Ferrari (who was doing very poorly at the time financially) requiring additional time to pass all US DOT regulations for import. MY 1996 also marked the switch to OBD2 in the US, so (in America) sales were suspended until Ferrari could make an OBD2 version, and again pass all DOT import requirements. There were no automatics in MY 1995 (or maybe better said, OB1 automatics)
Ok, maybe not the ehole USA but California, Florida or something, as Jaguar had to put airbags into XJS coupés and convertibles already in 1990. With the 456GT 1993-1994 no airbags nor automatics anywhere. 1995 airbags catalysts everywhere but Middle and Far East and automatic available if so desired. Cheers!
