I don't remember ANY officiating issues back in the 70's and 80's....

The main thing that is shocking to me today is even WITH instant replay that clearly shows
a 'situation', they STILL rule the wrong way about 10-15% of the time - WITH video evidence!

Just in the last month, we've seen it, and we have heard the TV Announcers say 'I'm speechless - how can they miss that?'
at least 6-8 times - just from the games I watch.

This is why I KEEP saying: the NFL is ABSOLUTELY in cahoots with gambling houses
to keep a point spread a certain way, an over/under a certain way.
You can almost BET if a team scores to push a spread there ius almost always a 'holding'
penalty back at the line of scrimmage. They could call holding on every play, but only choose
to if a spread or game isn't going the way they want it to.

And Dan Campbell told the Refs before the game what they might do, he was
consulting the officials to make SURE they did it right. (reported in)

You know what I would do?
I'd 'report' on EVERY DOWN, no matter what, even if there was NO chance of being used as a receiver.

I’ve noticed for a few years now that Brad Allen is an awful referee. The other two that I think are also awful are Carl Cheffers and Clete Blakeman. Non of these three should sniff a playoff game ever.

    I agree.

I will go into a deep depression/hibernate until the first week of September now...

I have mixed feelings about Caleb Williams - going #1 that is.
He 'ran around' like Mahomes because he HAD to - his line was that bad, he
won't have that luxury against the speed of NFL defenses.

I was really impressed with Penix' pocket awareness - you would THINK he might be a
better Pro QB, but Ryan Leaf looked great too, 25 years ago.
I DO remember Jon Gruden saying he thought Nathan Peterman was the best QB to come out in 2017,
    boy was he wrong...

Here's a list of all the QB's drafted, some i have never heard of...
Go thru the list, a lotta memories there.

I thought long and hard about an answer, but I really don't have 'a team', I just enjoy good football.

I especially like watching teams win that we are told 'suck', such as Az, Chi, Hou.

There are players I don't care for: basically any of them that open their yaps and complain
about not getting the ball, and especially WR's that, when they don't catch a ball thrown at
them, ALWAYS get up and throw their hands out looking for a flag...

Anyone holding out for a new contract when they are already under a contract also make my 'list'
as people I really don't care for.

I don't like seeing a guy get a flag for lightly hitting a QB when you can SEE they've
done all they could do to avoid them.

It also drives me nuts when a Ref reviews a play on video and WE can SEE what they
should do - it's blatant on film - and they STILL rule the wrong way.

As a kid, I liked the Lions, Dolphins and Rams - enjoy seeing them do well today,
but I cannot say any of those are 'my' team.
I never really cared for the Cowboys, but today I could not really care less about them,
one way or the other. I guess I changed a little when a guy I knew played for them
    in the 90's.

College is EASY: My favorite teams are whoever is playing Texas and Notre Dame.
I'm ALMOST at the point where I root for anyone that plays Ohio State, the whiners.

And down there, with the 33rd pick in the 6th round, 7th QB chosen and 199th player overall, the Patriots select........Tom Brady.

Boy, the player personnel directors that year all had to eat a lot of crow! He was chosen behind guys named Giovanni Carmazzi and Spergon Wynn. The only QB picked ahead of him that year who stuck around for a while at all was Chad Pennington.

    But here's the thing:

    NOBODY KNOWS.

Do you think Mahomes would be who he is if the Jets, Cleveland, Jacksonville, San Diego, Chicago, Rams or 49'rs would have drafted him?
VERY doubtful.(the teams I listed SUCKED the prior season - SF was 2-14-0)

    https://www.nfl.com/standings/division/2016/REG

Where would Brady be if Drew Bledsoe did not get hurt?

What if Clv, SD, Bears, Atl or Dallas had drafted Brady? They too sucked the prior season...
We don't know if he would have even made the cut...

It ALL depends on who the coach is, if he trusts you, AND if the chance to play arises...
Plus about 50 other things that all add up, good OC, better OL, and so on.
Who you play AGAINST is big, too, to build confidence, both your own plus with
your coaching staff and players around you.

Michael Jordan once said 'There are 50 players out on the streets that are better than I am,
they just never picked up a basketball'

I don't know why the moron that owns the Chargers fired Tom Telesco - he was a great GM
that only made one dumb trade/signing, J.C. Jackson. When he signed him I almost screamed,
he sucked in NE, in LA, AND when he went back to NE...he should be in prison for Robbery...

True…. Football is the ultimate TEAM game…..

Great players can make a huge impact, but a great player cannot make a bad team win.

But SOME great players have the ability to lift the others on the team to do better.

Not sure how Houston would be without CJ Stroud...
Look where Cinci was without Burrow 2-3 years ago.

The quarterback is an exception. They can sink a great team. But even the best qb cannot win with a bad team.

We see that with Mahomes this year, and KC is a BAD team, people are just brainwashed.
Kelce has not done much of anything since he started running around with that Paris Hilton clone.
    Philly is a mess, too.

Kelce should retire after this year and marry the billionaire. He gains nothing to play for a bad team next year

I still say that Philly should have won that superbowl last year…. KC got a lot of luck in the 4Q.

    Kenny Schrader said long ago:
'If you need luck to win, you are not fast enough, what you need is the absence of bad luck'.
And SF had bad luck when they ran out of QB's a year ago.

I don't see her marrying him - or anyone.

I don't see them being together a year from now, given her extensive track record,

3-6 in their last nine games?

They have a 'good' defense and a sub-par offense this season - not even average.
You can't let the last 4-5 years of the KC offense cloud what we see today...
And I AM a Chiefs fan - photographed games there, live 200 miles from KC,
but we see what they are - kinda like Green Bay this year.
