Hi all, does anyone know what to line up the flywheel timing marks against? There is no pointer or mark that I can see when looking through the bellhousing cut out.

Have a picture? I am unaware of any flywheel timing mark.

I just thumbed through the manual and see no mention of a flywheel timing mark.

They are stamped into the top of the flywheel and can be seen through the a cast square opening on the drivers side top of the bellhousing.

Somebody put a Daytona engine in a 456M?

Daytona timing marks were on the bottom.

I was just looking at pictures of 456 blocks. There is no hole I can see in the top rear of the block or the bell housing.

There are holes about 30 degrees from the top in the bell housing but those are not for timing.

Brian is correct..there are no marks on the flywheel. To find TDC use a dial indicator or piston stop.

Brian- Yup, spent a bit of time lying under mine while the wife ran her up to 5000rpm.

Affirmative, a bit noisy down there with things going round really quickly. Too old (lazy?) for that now. Plus, my Daytona was $5000 and a $10,600 Dino. A bit more now.
