Works out great if its through a dealer. I see it way too often to believe otherwise. Same guys that get all of the special cars, 3 to 6 months in and then for sale.
The hype? I had 6 people in my Corso Pilota class tell me they were turned down for a V12 Puro. We had just test drove them and were discussing them at lunch. Only 2 of us were getting allocations. If people eventually get allocations for the hybrid version, that’s a very different story and not at all what I’m referring to.
I am done after this post - not all dealers and customers are the same. My dealer had a lot of allocations but that didn't mean when or what engine. The early ones went fast - who cares this is crazy. Peace
First allocations were given to certain customers, probably many of us here posting but V12's were also available for later deliveries to others. I think a lot of people talk **** so they make excuses as to why they didnt order one, fact is that not many are laying down $500K+ on an everyday car. If my spec wasn't so damn nice I would have backed out. Ferrari will build cars for buyers except for the extra special ones like the XX and 812C, everything else is available.
At the end of the day, this is a scenario I would love to be wrong about as I have one coming this year. If by chance they skyrocket to a $1M I dont think I could resist selling it, heck I would sell it for $200K over if I could but I dont believe that will happen.
Fair perspective. I do actually believe the V12 versions will sell significantly above MSRP for a period of time, but by the time I get mine and wait my 18-month period, I have no idea how much above it will be. Not $1M. But honestly I just love the thing and I’m excited to own one. If I can be in a the fortunate position to sell at or above MSRP after 18-months, all the better. But maybe I won’t want to sell it by then? We’ll see.
If you are excited about it then you are in the best position regardless of price. I hope to be there but I'm not right now.
I don’t know if Ferrari will do a SE or LE of the Purosangue, but your statement is completely incorrect. Let’s just review your comment based on some of the more modern GT V-12’s and their SE/LE counterparts: 550…550 Barchetta 575…575 SuperAmerica F12…F12 TDF 812…Competizione 812 GTS…Competizione A Also, your list contains Ferrari’s that aren’t V-12’s.
No my friend, you are wrong and don't know what it are taking about (as well as @Cocoloco and @Divexxtreme ) and to date there are no special edition cars from the GT range 812 etc are sports cars and not GT cars, see Ferrari investor presentation... Nailed it. Ferrari 2+2 is always going drop significantly. Which supercar marquee SUV has sold over MSRP except during COVID time?
I guess all the naysayers forget people are still paying $75k over for G wagons and at their peak 150 over. I don’t know about $1m, but I think they deserve more of a premium than a G!
Same here. Sorry to say, PS should not be able to command similar amount of money as my tailor made 812 GTS. It is not a 600k car at all, does not drive like one, does not look like one for both inside or outside. V12 NA? 812 or F167 will suffice. Buy a slightly used 812 SF, a new urus, and you will have about 100k left which I recommend a new Lotus Emira.
G price shot through the roof because of influencer push and MB announced no more production, and this combination colluded with COVID, during which a Toyota corolla commanded 10k mark up.
The reason is simple - Ferrari cannot afford the PS launch and its market a disaster as it is their first try. So the ROFR are there to prevent the market gets flooded right away and prices drop too fast.
Just some random thoughts People pay more for something they want. So when people wanted G Wagen, they paid. Same for Urus. I just had a look the other day at 2021 2022 G Wagen with lowish miles and the asking prices were higher than I expected. So there is still some demand for these things. Not sure on Urus as it never appealed to me. Im not aware of Ferrari making a limited/ special edition of a 4 seater before. But theres no law of physics or rule of the universe that says they can’t. They are now hitting more niches than before and maybe they do something? I would view such a move with skepticism. Maybe they could do some kind of exclusive livery? Deposits have been going up. The deposit on the SF90 is very high. I don’t take the high deposit as indicating they can’t sell the car. My take is they want to have some funds to show for the order because they are taking longer and longer (it seems to me) to deliver cars. Anyway, Im sure they will make a good amount of PS, but I also think this is a vehicle that will be sought after by a large enough group. I think the PS will hold value better than past V12 4 seaters, but I wouldn’t bank on it appreciating. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
The Puro is an SF90 V12 four door - if I didn't order a Puro SF90 I wouldn't have received an XX. Everyone has a different reason - if you can stroke a check you can justify anything and if you can't you can tell everyone why Puros is a bad car. Values of a model don't matter if it gets you a LE - people buying a Puro really don't care about the people who didn't buy one - makes no sense to read theses posts.
Agree in general, but this is a Ferrari forum expressing opinions about upcoming model is standard. I have a feeling you take this whole thing somehow personal
