Let’s not forget the Lotus Elise, Maybe more suited to European B roads than American raods.

I know the roof on the Elise can be removed, but I don't think it qualifies as a "cabrio" which was one of @DylanBE's criteria. It doesn't really feel like a convertible -- if that's what you're looking for -- when you're sitting inside.

Unfortunately I am 1.90m / 6 feet 2 thus a miata is too cramped, I agree that for that price you have the best driver's car but as I am looking for an upgrade to the 718 Spyder I own currently this feels like a downgrade.

I'm not saying your wrong... I'm just pointing out something funny ...

Most retractable hard tops have such high butresses it's pretty much the same.

Then... Cars have a wind deflector or rear window that stands up vertically... Creating essential the same cabin space as a targa roof. In fact most people spend money or engineering to get themselves to what a targa is as far as "wind management".

This isn't a counter point... Just a funny observation

Lotus Evora GT or incoming Lotus Emira

My baseline is GT3 and 4 and all my F and Lambo, plus a alfa 4c Spyder!

I had a 718 Spyder as well, so I think I know what you mean. The Spyder is fast but does not feel fast at all. The GPF definitely adds to that lackluster feeling (read not performance as it has respectful stats)

You put 600LT there, so you must be open to turbo then. Daily driver car, yup, lotus emira seems good choice. Mine is incoming in March, can't wait.

I could only imagine. My alfa 4c spider only has 240hp, and it feels like double the horses when I push it.

Oh, man I remember that road!
Had a sign telling you to use your headlights. In the daytime.

Time permitting, I would take the long way up to SFO in my rented Fox body mustang.

What's that road? I'll be making the drive in a few weeks and still planning our route.

Elise is a terrific suggestion, with the added bonus of being rare. It’s true that on any high line cabriolet there’s some engineering and cost associated with blocking the wind from behind— so you effectively end up with a targa configuration.

If you don’t need creature comforts or luggage space, I can’t think of many better canyon carvers.

If I had really deep pockets, I would choose the F40, it will out fun and out canyon any car in the world in my estimation. God I would be in Heaven in that machine !! Maybe in the next life, huh ...Its the sickest most insane looking high perf sports car in the world, that is my opinion.

I have a file starting about what can be done with the Alfa 4C. ECU changes the power from stock 240 up to 300 hp. A few suspension mods and an exhaust upgrade are next.

Of the great cars I have in my collection the Alfa 4C is the best thrill ride for the mountain roads around me.

I have 2 cars in that garage that I have barely driven. The Ford GT and the Alfa 8C. I got both the them before I got hit with a stroke. They will be waiting for me when I will get better.

I definitely want to to the upgrades for the 4C. 300 hp on a 2500# car will be a rocket.

Also in the garage are three manual favs. My old 330 GTC, my Carobu 512 BB (470 hp) and the Ford GT. I have plenty to drive whether stick or paddle.
