Hello I'm in the process of removing the suspension on my 71 246 and am having difficulty removing the rotors. They wont budge any techniques? Is it easier to remove stab bars, connecting rods, shocks and remove as a unit then disassemble on the bench? Thanks, Jeff

The rotors are a tight fit on the hub. Remove the countersunk screw and beat alternating sides with a rubber or plastic hammer and it should loosen up and pull off. You could use a heat gun on the rotor near the hub but don't over do it.

Thanks, you mean two the indexing studs? I don't think there is countersunk screw on mine a M series.

This. Plus the break free can oil then brake cleaner if really bad.

How dirty is your hub? any photo please?

Here's a trick I've used - try giving the rotors a gentle tap with a rubber mallet or a block of wood. Sometimes, they just need a little persuasion.

And if that doesn't work, taking off the stab bars, connecting rods, and shocks to remove the assembly might give you more leverage. Once on the bench, you can work on them more comfortably.
