@m5guy I’m curious of your thoughts on that final result.

The market has continued to increase dramatically.

Before or at the start of COVID this car while I’m sure cared for and nice wouldn’t have brought $90k with those miles.

I don’t necessarily have a number in mind (while saying seller should be pleased)….just wondering yours and the other guys thoughts.

I’m still shaking my head on where Nifty/Chris 550 sold at (lower than this and with fewer miles and with carbon & Fabio)…..

    The 550 market continues strong…..

Nifty/Chris 550’s car remains the buy of the last few years.

Given recent 550 sales in BAT, am I the only one who thought this sale today was on the low side? True the car had miles, but the delta in price to recent weeks’ comps seems bigger than those miles.

A well taken care of 550 - the very last manual-only V12 Ferrari - for 25% less than sticker price... 25 years later?! I'd say outstanding buying. Sometimes the market prefers us enthusiasts over low mileage collectors.

The very last V12 manual was a 599?

Appears he referenced “Manual only”…ie all were manuals. Personally I don’t think that’s nearly as relevant but each his own.

If you do a trend analysis on BAT (I am a nerd, sorry, I did this!) - auctions ending on weekends (especially Sunday) and Holidays are usually at least 25% lower than the same car ending on a Tuesday to Thursday.

I would NEVER let my car auction end on a Sunday!

One of my businesses buys and sells at auction. I LOVE buying on these days (weekends and Holidays) as it saves us a lot of money! We ONLY close auctions on Tuesday - Thursday!

Many people forget that the 599 was available in manual, heck, some even forget that the 575 was too. But the #'s of these cars in manual are so low that the prices are insane. So a proper comment would be the last reasonably affordable still (for a time) 6mt v12 FE.

I prefer to say it's the last analog V12 FE 6MT. As the cars after all feel less like drivers' cars to me. I don't like computers controlling my inputs! lol. I guess it's the racer in me. But even driving a 550 and 575 back-to-back on street or track, I just prefer the "feel" of the 550. I am this way with most of my cars. I miss the days of me being in control!

Per my comment at the new BAT auction, will be watching this one closely to help decide if a conversion of my 2004 TDF / Cuoio on 19” modulars makes decent financial sense… seems like bidding is off to a solid start.

I was actually just going to look that up as It looked similar.

it's interesting that Art didn't list it himself. Doesn't want to get assaulted by the peanut gallery.

I didn't confirm myself if the vin is the same but assuming it is, we have talked a few times about that car here and how it started and then went lower and then it was RNM with a follow on Buy it Now "after hours" number.

I agree with a lot of guys in that the conversion is cool....doing it with deGroot is the coolest......

Yes vin matches. if it could get bought in the ballpark of that RNM price, what a smoking deal for such a beautiful color, and looks like fully serviced too. I am always suprised how much lighting changes tdf, as well as the blue scuro leather, looks like 2 different cars in the 2 listings.

I'd have to search for it but I thought it was in this thread that I had mentioned that.... It was my understanding (might be wrong) that Supercar Dan from youtube sold his converted red in the assumed $150k-ish range (from weak memory I thought the red one had 30k-ish miles). The EAG/Art Tdf could be argued to be substantially more desirable (it would be to me -- admittedly I'm not a buyer....).

To be frank and direct....I don't know what the Pcar market reserve on the Tdf car was but if I had listed it..... I would have personally considered to be "obtuse" and perhaps make sure it bid closer to what I wanted and/or the reserve so the distance from the final bid to the "But it Now" was smaller (auction manipulation is not uncommon).

That Pcar market auction for the Tdf car looks like it was "above board".

Market decides its value.....guess we'll get another look.....

    CHANGING CARS.....
I would note.....that black 550 that is in Monterey.....when I went down to that dealership to see if my kids fit in the 3rd row of the AMG 6.3L wagon.... the dealer showed me the black 550 inside (I didn't have great lighting) but I was surprised that auction ended as low as it did. I believe that black car should garner much more given other recent sales, so that one will also be interesting......I liked the dealer, seemed like a straightforward guy so I legitimately wish good luck for them this time around on the black car.

Joel, my brothers have suggested if I’m a legit 10C member then I would fly to Chicago Labor Day weekend and join them for the Pearl Jam show at Wrigley…..maybe….we should coordinate a “Maranello Meet-Up” and then take rides with @dhalperin13 to get a taste of what the delightfulness of the conversion combined with the eroticism of Fabios exhaust is all about!

Dan, apologies in advance for potentially volunteering you! ;-) Maybe if you give rides we should buy your dinner and show tickets!

I dont know much about Pcarmarket, but i see links there and prices and often wonder why anyone would sell there vs BaT or other platforms. Who is their target market? And why would a Non-porsche owner want their car there?

It feels like there is zero peanut gallery at Pcar so that could be a big deciding factor for sellers.
There have been a nice handful of cars I’ve watched on BaT not meet sellers needs and then go Pcar….often again not meeting sellers expectation the 2nd time around.

if I had a pristine no questions car I’d copy what @root did when he sold his 550 on BaT….he put on a clinic for the masterful way to sell a car (in my opinion).

I think you've got to convert it because you want to convert it, not the money. I bought an 03 575 TDF with modulars and carbon this summer, did all the skunkworks updates and let Bradan do the belts, drove it to confirm to myself I wanted the stick and it's currently in Wil de Groot's shop getting converted. Looking forward to the click-clack!

With 575s going for ~87-106K on BAT the last few months and a 6mt bidding to 160K and one selling for 180K - it seems to me that the you can at least get your money back AND enjoy a car that is more fun all the while! I dont understand why they did not sell that TdF on PCar. I also dont understand why you go to Pcar THEN BAT. Bat is the bigger audience and has more pull. Odd.

I was one of the EAG fanboys and I was lessoned by Henry and you and others are better and why. I think that Art's reputation is going to hurt that car, and he should have sold it for 155! lol

Is deGroot doing 430's too? I have a buddy in need of doing one.

AGREE SO MUCH! I would do BAT, then CarsNBids, then PCar.

Yes, if you are an engaged and transparent seller you do well with BAT, plain and simple.

Yes, but I think the trend analysis supports that you get your money back at the least today and as time goes I think that delta will grow. Look at 550 pricing v 575 pricing. there is a 100K+ delta at the moment.
