Just got the car back from service and no more music! The radio turns on normally, I can switch to cd and radio, I tried adjusting the fader and balance but just no sound. I CAN imagine the speakers are shot but what’s the chance of all of them going dead at the same time?

Is there anything else I should check?

The radio comes out easy enough to check the wires out the back of it

Check the fuse to the amp if present. Could be blown. That and then work to the back of the unit.

Sadly I’m still stuck w/ tons of admin work before the year end so haven’t been able to check out the fuses.

However, reading up the manual, I noticed that there are two fuses to the radio:

PDF9: 20A for radio, rear view mirror switch, fuel tank door, direction indicator switch, cigarette lighter, parking sensors

PDF10; 30A for radio, radio amplifier, parking sensor

Am I right to assume IF parking sensor is working then none of these fuses are blown hence my problem is not fuse related?

If you have something working on a fuse, it must be good. They only take a minute to check as they come out easy with a set of needle nose pliers

Sounds like a reasonable assumption, but I haven’t seen any F430 diagrams which include the parking sensors. PDF9 is powered when the ignition is on. PDF10 is live battery power and will be used for radio memory. Does the parking system need to remember anything?

Finally got around to check out the fuses: and they are all good!

    Debug mode ON! [emoji28]

Gotta admit it’s not that user friendly to work on the fuse on this car though.

Does your car have the hi-fi option? That is, does it have the small speaker box located against the firewall behind the seats, and the small booster located underneath the dash.

Does the car have a quick muting button or something which mutes the audio when an optional car phone is being used?

If you have an amp, the setup may be something like this:

i.e. A fuse on the back, plus some wiring for options. There is a mute wire, which, if accidentally shorted to ground, might cause issues (see note).

Sadly no. As you can see here, just carpets behind the seats.

I tried all buttons on the radio. They all seem to work as upon pressed something happens but none of them brings me any sound! [emoji28]

Tx. Where would the amp be typically mounted/installed?

@alecela: Silly question have you tried turning the volume all the way up?

If I were you, I would get my hands on another radio for testing purposes. Any cheap radio will do. You just need to hook up power, ground, turn on, and one speaker (white wire and white/black striped wire, for example). If you get any sound, then you can get your original radio refurbished, or just purchase another one.

    Don't worry about it!
When I acquired my 2006 F430 five years ago I turned the radio on to see if it worked and it did.
I have not listened to it since as there are much better sounds going on.

Unlike me, my wife does not appreciate listening to an engine screaming at 9 grand for four hours straight. Ergo, the stereo.

I'd bet based on what you're describing that the amplifier in the radio that outputs power to the speakers has gone bad. As mentioned above, plug in a different working radio and see if that produces sound.

Same here. The radio was flashing so I got the code and programed it in, and checked it out and decided the engine sound was much more pleasing. In the last 12 years I have turned the radio on 2 times. Not sure why they even put a radio in the car.

The exhaust fan above my stove has a bad bearing. Jessica says it sounds just like the engine in my Ferrari. This is why we have radios.

Finally got it sorted! Apparently there was a short for the passenger side speaker BUT for some reasons BOTH speakers were out. In any case, I replaced the two way speakers w/ Audison APK 165 and now I'm back in business! I even managed to connect my phone to the radio via bluetooth. Now if only I can figure out HOW to play the music from the phone... I can't seem to select the ferrari as audio output device from my iPhone but in bluetooth setting I'm clearly connected.
