Hamilton to Ferrari confirmed

+1 for me. Multiple WDC's with different teams and strong numbers. He has done exactly as contracted, take a winning car and win. Whats the problem with people and his racing. They use other excuses to denigrate him and its stupid.

 

Yes...that's step 1.

Now step 2: Sainz is going to be replaced by a 7x world champion; who will also not roll over. So assuming 2025 Ferrari have a quick car too...there will be plenty of in-fighting. We already saw that without a championship on the line between Vettel and Leclerc, and also for Lewis-Rosberg. Imagine with a title there?

This move is a shot in both feet for Ferrari.

The only one that stands to win in all of this is Lewis.

1) Ferrari continues to produce cars that can't quite get it = Lewis didn't get 8 because Ferrari is bad
2) Leclerc beats Lewis, Lewis can claim he's old
3) Lewis beats Lecerc, that one is obvious, a win for Lewis there

Whereas Ferrari needs extraordinary circumstances to come together:

1) Need RB to suddenly start buillding really bad cars
2) Ditto for Mercedes

Those 2 scenarios are pretty unlikely, so lets go with the more likely situation, Ferrari builds a competitive car:

1) In fighting between Lewis and Charles will cost them a title, or both titles potentially
2) Lewis beats Charles: They do finally get a title but how long will Lewis really stay? My guess not very long, he can go out at the very top. Ferrari loses the guy they just won a title with and his replacement will then be seen as inferior.
3) Leclerc beats Lewis. Waste of my guess 50 million if not more if they're buying Sainz out a year early.

 

If true Carlos owes them nothing. Was on track to beat Charles again this year no problem. Beat him before and had a win this year. Ferrari are interesting in paying Charles WDC winner money for no wins. Stupid really but hey - Ferrari are a luxury brand now! We had a boring off season until yesterday and today lol

 

Yeah, I’m going to use the same “excuses” line that many of Carlos’ supporters have been lobbing at Charles for some time now.

 

Carlos is smart racer. Charles appears to need more help as Carlos is astute, tactical and gets the job done. Not sure what Ferrari are thinking but its their little playground to rule. No excuses from me. I think Carlos and Charles compliment each other well. Who had a win this year. NOT CHARLES LOL.

 

Ferrari sees it different. As they should. Its inside info vs your outside opinion. They have been wanting Sir Lewis Hamilton for some time now. Clearly they see a benifit.

 

That’s a great metric to choose when deciding which horse to back.

I’ll stick with total head-to-head wins, podiums, points, poles, and grand slams, thanks.

Won’t be surprised to see him driving a Ferrari at Le Mans & his father owning a Ferrari Dealership.. there is a lot of business in this deal for both sides..

 

Mate, you will be schocked by my opinion, but I’m very happy seeing Hamilton in Ferrari for the 2025 season.
As long as I dislike his public attitude he’s a fantastic driver with HUGE experience.

The latest is that Ferrari will make an official announcement at 8pm Italian time which is under 4 hours time.

A driver won't fix Ferrari's issues. Pierre Wache would be a great addition but I'd be very surprised. Mind you with todays news, anything can happen.

 

Short of Lewis going to RB, this move is going to make 2025 the most anticipated and exciting season possible.

Wonder if Netflix kicked in a couple million purely for the guaranteed massive numbers for Drive to Survive 2025.

Biggest question: will Lewis try learning Italian like Seb did?

Mercedes set to address staff at Brackley regarding Hamilton exit

Mercedes is reportedly set to hold an internal meeting later today at Brackley to inform its staff of Lewis Hamilton's impending departure from the team.

The shock announcement is expected to be made at 2pm during a briefing led by team principal Toto Wolff and technical director James Allison, according to a report from The Telegraph.

But it has now come to light that the Briton’s second season is allegedly an option to remain at Brackley, only exercisable by Hamilton.
