Hamilton to Ferrari confirmed

You're missing the point, that myself and others are making: "woke" isn't just about my politics, or Hamilton's politics. He brings "woke" to the sport itself, we see it in the favoritism shown by the stewards to Hamilton. We're talking about the SPORT here, not personal POLITICS ... and how "woke" can easily ruin the sport itself.

Regarding LeClerc, i do agree ... i see no sense of entitlement or woke, in what he brings to F1! His clean, on-track battles with Verstappen have been EPIC, the highlights of the last couple years. BOTH drivers, fighting clean! I hope we see more, not less, if LeClerc gets a new teammate

 

They both like cars that oversteer, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. This move makes sense in that capacity.

Realistically, how many years does Hamilton have left in the sport? I'm interested in how many Ferrari is giving him. I'm going to assume 2025 and 2026. If the car is trash in 2026, he will jump ship on Ferrari.

i did not appreciate it.
i do not like hamilton.
but i have disliked previous Ferrari drivers, so i will survive this too.

 

For Ferrari nowadays, it's not about more "winning" ... it's about more "woking".

Lewis to Monza crowd in 2025 : « you are the greatest public in Formula One »​

 

There has always been a confusion about Eddie Irvine's nationality.
He held a British passport (United Kingdom), but raced with an Irish Licence (Republic of Ireland).

 

All true except for one critical problem, time. IMO. he will not have time to have all those things to fall in place as it will take at least two years for Hamilton to gel with the team because of today's limited development rules in place. At 30 years of age, I say incredible move by Ferrari, but at 40, this is more of a media move by Ferrari and money grab opportunity for Hamilton. I hope I am wrong but I am not optimistic about this signing.

 

I've heard it both ways for Leclerc so I am not sure what kind of car Leclerc prefers. It did seem the better it got for Sainz, the worse it got for Leclerc though.

 

We'll start a new thread and argue about that too.

Probably already said, but
At least Ferrari will get positive reviews from the Skysports announcers.

 

For me, the worst part of it is the fanbase. IMO, Lewis Hamilton fans are the absolute worst fans. Delusional, misguided. They avoid facts and resort to personal attacks. Ignore reality. A lot are sadly very discriminated too. I think Hamilton has something like 25 million social media followers, no doubt they will flood into the Ferrari groups.

 

I called this move a few years ago and some on here told me i was nuts.

True, Ferrari could use without 99% of his fans that are mostly trolls withoyut any knowledge of the sport....

 

I was mostly thinking in terms of his age, and Ferrari not being a winning team at the moment.

 

I wonder if there's a contingent at Mercedes who are just relieved. Maybe not happy... but relieved. Perhaps they can all focus on racing now instead of having to split their energy on other things.

Either way, I hope he does well. It would be nice to see Ferrari do well for a change. Maybe he'll bring about the necessary shake up they need to get the team facing the right direction. He could get swallowed up in the inevitable Ferrari political machine. He could just be a total distraction. I also wonder if Chuck knew this prior to him signing his contract.

Mercedes wasn’t a championship contender in 2012 either.
Alonso at 42 years old is just amazing.
Lewis is three years younger.
Again wait and see.
Most important thing is Ferrari producing a competitive and reliable car on a regular basis.
If so we should have fun in 2025..
