Bet this will age worse than LH's "costumes".

    F's bud light moment.

I remember when some (including myself) were not crazy about Alonso joining Ferrari. But then Alonso showed an incredible amount of respect and love to Ferrari and its fans, and drove his heart out for the team every weekend, so that by the end, there were tears when Alonso said goodbye.

My hope is that Hamilton will be more like Alonso and less like Vettel, and that he brings the kind of serious game he brought to Mercedes from 14'-19'.

Ferrari fans must give Hamilton a chance, even if they're not crazy about his attitude sometimes. I know I will.

I can see Hamilton winning races with Ferrari, but in a title winning level car, the smart money would be on Leclerc.

    I would like that.
Give Mr. Sainz some reliable Honda power to work with and see if he flourishes.
I hope for Drive to Survive next year they shift some focus and talk to the MB support folks, and get a sense how pissed and disappointed they are with Sir Lewis.

30+mil social media fans are now LH at Ferrari fans. 7bil$ stock bump. Age appears to not be an issue lol. Ferrari luxury brand fashions look worse than what LH wears. How this ages won’t matter at all. Ferrari as
an entity will remain strong and actually be more valuable over time.

As long as her respects the history of Ferrari and its culture I am ok with it. This would not be the first controversial driver to walk through the gates and he will not be the last. I do think replacing a young driver with a career ahead of him with one at the end of his career makes little sporting sense.

As a Brit it would be rational if i supported LH but I dont, I am more of a team supporter than driver orientated.

So what can LH bring to the team, lets park the hostility towards the guy for a while and think logically, main points i feel.

    1. Experience (huge amount)
    2. Knowledge (from a very successful team)
    3. Possible staff (in team supporters)
    4. Talent. (undoubtebly)
    5. Future knowledge (he must know whats going on for 2024 and beyond)
    6. Strategy and planning (he is a wily operator)
    7. Good business (they make more money, all of them)

    Minus
    1. Prima donna (controllable)
    2. Age (still doable)
    3. Can CL cope with a massive figure in the team (if he is sensible, which he is, then yes)

    4. Cost (they can afford it)

I really think that Hamilton and Ferrari should've waited until the first few races of 24' were in the books, so that all parties could make a more informed decision with the performances of each others new cars taken into proper consideration.

What IF Mercedes show up with a good car out there that can take the fight to RB and win races, and Ferrari start behind?! It is not hard to imagine Hamilton having cold feet like when Button thought he wanted to go to Williams, then saw his current team of BAR rising above them, and decided he changed his mind.

There's no question that the opening races could change Hamilton's mind about going to Ferrari, and if he does, HOO BOY. WW3 will start Italy.

Drivers don't know until after saturday quali finishes if the car is truly competitive or not.

There are indicators of course, team staff moving, how long a team has worked on new regulation cars etc that indicate if a team is on the up or not. Merc had people leave in droves. Ferrari is one of the teams that signed numerous big names.

As expected, Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari is the nightmare scenario for many tifosi and 44-haters alike.
For many it's unbelibeable that it happens at all. "Sleeping with the enemy" comes to mind.
Now, the driver they have slagged off for a decade will be driving for their favourite team.
Some don't seem to get over that; reading some of the posts here, some reactions are hilarious.
I don't think it's a good move, from a Ferrari point of view; it's an added distraction for a team rebuilding itself, IMO.
But I like the fact that Hamilton decided to change team, proving he still have free choice, even after 6 titles at Mercedes. It comes late in his career, so I don't expect it to bear many fruits.
An 8th title is probably out of the question.

I think the equation for Hamilton is as follows.

There are 3 teams that win regularly in F1: RB, Mercedes, and Ferrari. Even though Ferrari has not won a championship since 07', they have only had 2 seasons since then where they went winless. We give Ferrari a lot of crap on this forum, but they typically build cars that at least win races, even during eras of dominance by other teams. Typical lean years for Ferrari are not too bad. Other years, they are within reach of a title.

Hamilton thinks that at minimum he can win races with Ferrari and reset his career.

Props to Vasseur. We all demanded he bring the seriousness of Todt to Ferrari and recruit big names, and has not disappointed in that regard.
