Quantity over quality? Myself and others have been watching for a loooong time. Even thru all the pain and suffering. I agree they’ll get more fans now with this deal but the minute Lewis leaves they’ll all go with him. He’s like the Lebron of Motorsports.
Hopefully not for long . After Max owns Lewis again this year we’ll see if the media continues their biased obsession with him.
That's what they said last year lol. Certain drivers are just more interesting. It is what it is. Nothing wrong with Max.
Yes, I am very happy with this deal. Hopefully, everything goes well in all departments and he can compete with Red Bull on consistent basis.
It's not like Ferrari was competitive. So getting the driver who finished ahead of your #1 driver in the standings is a bad thing. Ferrari is trying to win championships not trying please the tifosi. Obviously they see Hamilton as a plus not a negative. Ferrari isn't paying Hamilton 100, 000,000 because they're trying to make you guys happy. They obviously think he can still win. I've got the feeling that if Ferrari puts out a competitive car and Lewis does better than Charles, plenty of people on here will still hate on Lewis.
I'm sure there will be more of that in the coming years. Oh well. What we are seeing in the microcosmos is probably what Ferrari hopes to see in the real world: Lots of Hamilton fans or folks of that generation becoming Ferrari fans. It's all about the bottom line and I'm sure Ferrari got that calculation right.
He obviously doesn't care what the haters think. He knows the tifosi hate him for beating Schumacher. It will fun to hear all the tifosi booing Hamilton when he wins.
If Hamilton wins and people around here still slam SF, they aren't real fans. That's right, I said it! Talk about merchandise wearing, SUV driving prima donnas! Either you want SF to win or you don't. And if you don't care if SF wins then GTFO. Now, if the car and strategy are still crap, slam away. But that won't be Lewis' fault and indeed he would have every right to whine and moan. Personally I'm done with SF's stupid ass strategy mistakes and crappy ass car. It's like WTF?
With all due respect Furman, we (veterans) call out either one of Ferrari's mistakes during the race (play-by-play) on whether it's driver, tire strat or pit stop incidents or ALL OF THE ABOVE. I'm more than sure that won't change when Hamilton comes on board. I have seen it play out like this with Ferrari and its drivers since the day I joined.
Schumacher built the championship winning team around him. Lewis (courtesy of Niki Lauda) walked into it.
Yeah Sir Lewis Hamilton had to win on his talent alone. No team on your side, key people who built the team with you who always backed you. No advantages that building a team and car centered around you and your driving style comes with. Sir Lewis Hamilton had to walk in with none of those advantages and win on pure talent. That's why Schumachers ex teammates say Hamilton like had more natural talent than Schumacher.
100%. I think this is a big marketing play from Ferrari and they are geniuses for it. Their stock sky rocketed in the few days after the news. Sure a lot can be down to releasing their financials, but you have to think a portion of that is down to the Hamilton signing. Like you said, we are already seeing it here and we will see a load of Lewis fans jump to the Ferrari forums and such. It should make things very interesting that's for sure.
Different era's Schumacher was in an era where he could take a team(Benetton) and move it to Ferrari. Drivers knew more than the engineers. Hamilton walked into it. Engineers know more than the drivers by this era(2014).
