I usually change exotics every 1-3 years. Well 5 years later I cant seem to even think about a replacement for my f430 spider. best exotic ive ever owned. Ive thought about the 458, hurracan, r8 or even an aventador but pricing has jumped too much on those cars. What car would you replace it with if you had to replace?

You name the usual choices but then mention price so I am assuming price is a restriction? If so, it would be tough to find a replacement frankly. I can't think of a car in that price range I would rather have. If price is not a restriction, then I think your post is where I would start (at least 458 and huracan anyway).

    In this order

308 For the style, not the speed
NSX for the reliability and "Ferrari like" feeling
S2000 because it was the best roadster ever made

However, I'd like to think my F430 will be with me longer than I'm able to drive it.

I keep being tempted by a 488 since I don’t like the 458’s lack of side intakes. But lucky for me once I hop in my 430 and the F1 transmission kicks me in the backside at 8500 rpm, I forget all about it.

Also, the rear end doesn't look like Sid from Ice Age. :D That's one of the things that keep the 458 off my short list. If I could get 488 Pista styling with a naturally aspirated V8, it would be moved up quite fast to the top. I feel like that was the last elegant car Ferrari made.

My F430 manual is the sweet spot for me. Anything newer with all the tech scares me as I can't fix it.

^^As above though if someone wanted to swap me for a Scud I might be tempted.

I’m voting with CNJ and tmva - my next fun ride will be a 488 Spider!

I don’t have space for any more cars, so I would have to let a car go in order to try something new. The only car I can think of is a manual gt3 touring. Especially since my 430 has been in the shop for 8 months. I have a feeling once I set my eyes back on it and hear that bark on startup that thought will vanish.

Took me almost 25 years to be 'ready' to move on from my NSX, think it will be much longer for the F430, should I live that long, it's not even warmed up yet. I really don't see anything out there that offers the full package that the F430 offers, it ticks all the boxes.

For the purpose of answering the question, if for some reason I had to, or chose to switch, and I was looking for something along the lines of what the F430 has to offer: I'm pretty hell bent on a 6 spd, so I'd probably try
If I was gonna give up the stick, you mention pricing, so I presume you're in the F430 range, in that case
    • 16M, though price is probably a factor and collectability is an issue
    • 458 spider (seen some really gorgeous ones)
    • new NSX
    • 488

After4 years, I can tell you this is an itch worth scratching….life changer

Enjoyed my test drives in a Scuderia

If I had to sell a 430 and could buy something within 2x of the sales price, I would look at a sub $200k MC20 or sub $250k 720S.

To get me out of my Spider, I would have to spend a lot more money! I still think they are the Supercar bargain.

The F430 is still today, the best car you can buy for the money, for what you want from it.

I can only think of a 430 scud to replace it with, a 458 or a Spyker (but im biased towards Spyker as a dutchy, seeing as i was their youngest shareholder in history), but nothing newer from Ferrari than the aforementioned 458 range. Sure a 488 or F8 looks alot better, but the turbo engines ruin those cars for me, these cars are all about emotion, and those turbos just kill that for me.

Im convinced a Spyker will also be a very good investments, im sure these cars will hit 1million in trade values within 10 years, seeing that all the other completely handbuild cars (like pagani, koenigsegg etc) are trading already far above those prices, Spykers have been forgotten and people seem to only just start rediscovering them!

I don't know if they've been forgotten as much as that they are rare.

I've never seen a bargain one, each one seems to get the attention and pricing that these very special cars deserve. They really are uniquely beautiful design, styling, performance and craftsmanship-wise. Their specialty models are really something.

They have been on a steady incline price wise since the start of Covid, back then you could find them on the used car sites in EU, with prices starting at about €250,000. If i go search right now, the cheapest is atleast 100K more. but most of them start at about 500K now (not counting uk cars, theres a few for sale currently with prices advertised, i know theres more for sale but not posted online). Magical cars, and such a shame they never got to produce the SSUV D12 Peking-to-Paris, i'm pretty sure if they did they would still be around today.

I'll stick with my F430. It doesn't have to be a exclusive or question. Just add the cars you like assuming you have the garage space and the $$$.

No replacing the F430. I get the allure of the Scud, but I prefer the looks of the F430. Also I feel like long drives would be tiresome.

Not interested in 360, and 458 moved too far away from the analog connection you get in the F430.

Now, plenty of cars I have added alongside the F430, that is a different story. But F430 itself is going nowhere.

Wiesmann, another one of those awsome brands that have gone under sadly :( saw a brown one driving around between Alkmaar and Heiloo last summer, 2 men in a F430 spider with the top down, breaking their necks to see the Wiesmann drive by must have been a hilarious view (and felt proud im sure) for the owner

i go through this dilemma all the time, and have written about it on here frequently.
and yet, after 7 years of unintended ownership, i have concluded that the ferrari 430 is the best value supercar you can buy for this money.
i describe it as the F150 of Ferrari world - it just keeps going and you can do almost anything with it.
i drive it everywhere in any weather. and it still has power poise and performance.

its not my favorite car, but it is a worthy occupant of my stable.
