Did they also kidnap your sense of humor?
Cause that was obviously meant in jest.

I decided to be a little flashy today with my chrome Casio A168. My friend says it looks like a watch you would get out of a gum ball machine.

That strap looks like it rips out arm hairs. :)
Btw…does it still keep time well?

The bracelet doesn’t pull hairs but it’s too loose now & I need something that fits better. It does not tell time well at all. I am planning to send this one in for service once they get done with one of my other watches. This one is very sentimental to me. I will leave all the patina & just make it run well.

You ever watch the Youtube channel “wristwatch revival?” Fascinating to see services on vintage watches.

Yeah DON'T clean the outside other than a light polish, but throw that bracelet away since its the wrong size anyway.

I don’t plan on polishing it or replacing the crystal. The bracelet is the original but I see what you mean about the way it looks.

I doubt very strongly that bracelet is the original one. Look how it is too narrow in between the lugs. It’ll slide side to side and wear the lugs over time. Very unlikely it would have been allowed to do that.

The omega guys have told me to ditch the bracelet because it stretches out the lugs. I’m certainly no expert but my mom has the photos of when the watch was presented to my grandfather & the bracelet looks like this one. It could have possibly been replaced at some point with the wrong size. I don’t know but I’ll keep it in the drawer just in case. I will never get rid of this one so it doesn’t really matter anyways. I truly hope the lugs aren’t stretched that much.

For sure. This was back when companies actually appreciated their employees. This was for 25 years of service & given to him in 1976. I was holding his hand when he passed away in 2012. He was wearing this watch at that time. I haven’t even looked at it until a month ago when I took it out of storage. I need to go grab a different watch from the safety deposit box & see what kind of condition that one is in. Hopefully a little better than this one.
