Interesting to see if this goes anywhere. https://carbuzz.com/news/new-ferrari-cockpit-lets-you-switch-between-lhd-rhd-and-central-seating-as-you-please
I guess this would require drive-by-wire with everything, as the physical linkages would prevent any motion. Not to mention that it would be a regulatory nightmare in terms of type approval.
Very nice looking prototype. I strongly believe the rear wing will be more integrated to the bodywork compared with the first prototypes. V shaped and profiled outer fins.
This will be really amazing technical accomplishment, and the car will be videogamish level of wow factor, but despite all, the real monster in downforce will not be this, it will be the 250 XX, and judging the FXXK as the most beautiful raod Ferrari of modern times, I cannot wait to see if design and technical team will achieve the goal making 250 XX even more beautiful then FXXK, not only more performing!
I expected more from the final prototype. It does not look "extreme" at all. I doubt it will be able to match the Aston or Mercedes performance (Valkryie, Project ONE).
so SUV have glorious sounding V12 but over two million dollar next generation hyper car will get V6 turbo....I wonder how it will keep value compare to the other legends, for now ENZO have same or even higher price than hybrid laFerrari
The 288 GTO and F40 have V8 Turbo's, they do okey value wise. I think it's the hybrid part that's more of a worry for the future as they are already becoming headaches in the gen of hybrids like the LaF, 918 and P1. The sound of the F50 in this video
Why old turbo cars like F40 soudns so much better than modern turbo ? 30 years ago turbines have different construction?
Hopefully a bit too soon to judge, but I was also hoping for something extreme. And what lies beneath the camo does look pretty conventional. For now, it could be a LaFerrari 3.0. Let's see if we're being fooled, I'm willing to be!!!
Biggest culprits are emissions equipment and sound regulations. Watch some videos of de-catted F8s, they sound pretty mental. Also these older turbocharged cars had larger turbines than modern ones which are aiming to improve spool/efficiency. Smaller turbos restrict flow and sound especially at high rpm.
Ferrari does camo extremely well, we know very little about the actual design. The Ferrari will be infinitely more usable than either of those cars, both of which remain plagued by production and reliability issues- it will simply be on another level.
Forgot to mention but external wastegates (which no OEM makes anymore), and manifold design play a big part in sound quality and level. An F40 manifold looks like a traditional long-tube design, but a 488 uses a much shorter (and less equal length) design, again to improve spool/response.
is it the final body under camo? its their hypercar, i think they may take extreme measurements to hide the body.. cant remember if the laferrari was spotted testing like this and was unveiled at the very last moment....
it will be extreme compared to Laferrari, it seems that they are mixing Valkyrie (floor , diffusor) and Amg One ( huge rear wing, double S duct) solutions
