reminded of an old saying I was taught early on: " A ruler governs a country, a scale is used for measuring"
Great piece on one of Bill Mitchell's last cool cars. https://www.theautopian.com/the-1977-caprice-was-legendary-designer-bill-mitchells-last-gm-masterpiece-and-how-jaguar-inspired-it/?fbclid=IwAR2LdCigkryMMOvEuCWnGBzb0vN-2P7rHcdZFeUykFqiJDZMzr5xt-EZtTg
That one's really interesting. Was that a concept? It's got sort a smoothed Sovereign-era grill so maybe late 1980s or early 1990s? The wing mirrors are bizarre, they're giving me BMW M3 vibes rather than Jaguar. The integrated tail pipes are definitely making me think 1990s, as is the rounded glass by the rear windows and thick C pillar. So not 1980s. Ok... 1992? 1993? 1992! 1992. Final answer. All the best, Andrew.
1990! The design was rejected by Jaguar but was later sold to Daewoo, scaled smaller and adjusted to be released in 97 as the Leganza. It definitely lost something in the translation.
Ahhh... I was close! Wow, the Laganza? I've been in one of those before. Now that you point it out, I can see that in the rear window and C-pillar. The face and tail definitely went in a different direction to originally envisaged... All the best, Andrew.
Meh, looks like a kit car from the sixties. They can call it what they want but it is definitely not Stratos material. It's all long and relaxed. None of the attack needed for a Stratos! Imo.
Stopped by Art Center last weekend for a look around. Always interesting stuff to see. Posting photos of student work in progress isn't good form, but here's a shot from the display gallery near reception. Image Unavailable, Please Login
