First reaction is to body slam that person onto the pavement. Second reaction is that's what I get for being one of the "elite 1%'ers." I don't think you can avoid this situation but when you think about it...it's just a car easily fixed with paint and body work. I think that people around you are so stupid that the cost of ownership of your Ferrari should include an "idiot allowance" for the repair of door dings, cracked windshield glass, doors keyed and any other manner of jealous actions from the peanut gallery. People used to see a Ferrari and work hard aspiring to own one. Today you are despised as elite, 1%'er, climate killer, and big oil supporter. I think the USA is not to many years away from Venezuela where parked cars have to remove their windshield wipers so they don't get stolen off the cars.

This is the number 1 downside of Ferrari ownership, and why I mainly use my fcars for point A to point A drives only. My red f430 gets so much attention, mostly positive, but many negative. I was once at a stop sign and as a pickup drove past, he spit on my car! I could do without both types of attention , but acknowledge it comes with the territory.

it’s also why i really love my silver 575. It flies under the radar, not too loud, and in the rare case someone recognizes it, it’s usually a true enthusiast.

Image Unavailable, Please Login Agreed. My black 456M gets the exact amount of attention I would ever want. 99.9% super positive. I did walk out of the bar and found an empty Fritos bag on top it. Haha.

Same parking spot the week after made up for it as I walked out of the HMS Bounty to see this kid appreciating it !

My black metallic 328 always got positive attention. The color is less in-your-face, perhaps.

Also it’s an older car — classic cars seem to get more love from the general public.

Agreed to all the above. That’s one reason I specifically didn’t want a red Ferrari; I like Ferraris but don’t like attention, and my black car doesn’t stand out as much as brighter colors do. Plus it looks good in black.

A dark/neutral color and an older/classic car seems to get less attention than a newer red or yellow model. I’d venture to say considerably less.

Anything can happen these days, but that’s what I’ve noticed.

I parked mine downtown and was chatting with a friend in his store when a young twenty something hopped on the hood of my car or quarter panel.. she said to her BF/partner "Take a picture!"

He simply said "Get off the car. Get off the CAR." And she did. luckily she wasn't wearing anything to scratch the paint and she was young and thin.

To the OP's question, the only way to avoid that situation completely is to drive from point-A to point-A and don't park it unattended anywhere, ever.

I don't think I could do that, though. If a car is that precious, I don't think I'd enjoy it much, as I'd be worried about it all the time...kind of sucks the fun out of the ownership experience IMO. In that case, I might try finding a driver-quality car where I didn't sweat every blemish.

Glad one of the two was an adult. Hope she felt like an ass getting shot down for that.

If she was wearing a bikini and was with her friends, neither would I..

problem is she was with a respectful boyfriend and likely drunk at the time.

You wouldn’t be upset if some random person sat on top of your car??? Even if it was my jeep I’d be pissed. It’s about common decency of having respect for other peoples property

It’s as if you came home and a some dude was in your background taking selfies. No harm no foul right

I dont park my 328 and leave it out of my site. If I was the owner, I would have knocked that douchbags teeth out, I dont give a **** about her being a woman, and when she hit the ground, I would kick her in the ****ing head for good measure.

On more than one occasion I’ve parked my F430 spider in front of a restaurant, went in and sat down where I could see the car through the window - then watched passerbys stop and selfie themselves with the car - although never with anyone getting ON the car!

Some people just aren't taught. When we got our F-Type, I took my friend out to lunch in it. Later she wanted her photo with it, and started to sit on the car. When I explained that she could damage it by doing so, she understood.

While that might be a first reaction, you'd likely end up going to jail with an assault charge. You know if they're going to sit on your car, they're also going to press charges and blame you for the whole thing. The jury will believe it too as you have a Ferrari and are contemptible.

So hold back on the assault. Gently but firmly remove her from the car and shush her on her way.
