I think more Shell than McDonald's. The yellow and white stripes are sharp. I dislike the overuse of black.

Agree. Normally, I hate black wheels on a car because it basically turns the wheel well into a black hole when, instead, the wheels should be like jewelry on a car.

In this case, with the stupid hubcaps (peppered with random holes no less) covering the nice BBS wheels, best not to draw attention to them and leave them black. Not to mention plastering then in red makes the car look like a toy or worse, pimped-up ride.

So the yellow is on the Cavalino Rampante shield plaque with the letters SF. This plaque is placed ahead of the drivers mirror on the left front quarter panel on Ferrari's production cars.

The yellow is the color of Maranello where Ferrari is headquartered at hence the yellow on the shield and on their motorsport cars like WEC(499P) and F1.

True, it's definitely a combination of things....no point having great suspension or great aero without the other.

I was just highly surprised (or am I?) at Ferrari seemingly dismissing it.

Yellow is actually the color of Modena, which was Enzo's birthplace.

So with regards to this current formula we are on:

    - Ferrari and HAAS as I'm sure "Alfa Romeo" use a pull rod design for the rear suspension due to the engine and gearbox setup.

    - Mercedes and their customers use a push rod design for their rear suspension; again due to the engine and gearbox setup.

    - RedBull and VCARB also use a push rod as well for their rear suspension.

“Alfa” do their own gearbox and rear suspension—because they’re so good at it, LOL—and have used push-rod at the back since at least last year. This year they added pull-rod at the front to match RB and McL.

Since push rod is better for packaging and allows more room for the tunnels, I am surprised every team hasn't gone this route given how critical the floor and diffuser is. I wouldn't think the COG and perhaps very minor weight advantages pull rod has would be more of a benefit than potentially better aero. Especially at the back of the car where the transmission and such. It would be a smaller % of impact than at the front. So I can understand pull rod at the front. Funny, as Ferrari has stayed push rod at the front.

Way to early to tell, but something definitely sounds different on this car. It also seems to move a bit different. No idea good or bad, just my observation from the limited footage.

I’m tired of matte finish cars!!! To me gloss red with more white contrast would be more fresh and eye catching.

Anyway… the cars looks are fine but I hope the engineering and pit crew takes a huge step forward. I hope Carlos really sends it, goes for broke this year!

Fed up of matte paint and bare carbon. Never liked either, never will. So trashy looking.

Admittedly, push-rod at the front has the advantage of easier access for tuning suspension, among other pluses. I believe RB added some bulky fittings on the pull-rod itself to adjust ride height, and adjustment is not easy. Also, Ferrari is not alone in this choice, so obviously some trade-offs were weighted and teams are split on the choices for the front.

The rear pull-rod thing at the rear has me thinking maybe Ferrari are more easily contented with accepting the compromises of this arrangement because of their familiarity with it instead of challenging themselves to always be pushing the envelope on innovation.

Is it risk aversion or the self-satisfaction of thinking they’ve come up with a more clever and compact pull-rod mechanism—this is their claim—than the others could have ever done (doubt it), or placing more emphasis on the mechanical aspects of the car than aero? Not sure.

I have to say I am absolutely not competent to have a valid opinion on this highly technical subject.
I just remember the ferocious debates about the F2012 pull rod suspensions configuration front and rear..
One can hope they have hugely improved since this year..

Ah, yes, the F2012 with the horizontal pull-rods, LOL.
