Got a question. I have seen on two 2006 factory manual F430 spiders a shift pattern engraved into the gated gearshift cover as opposed to the cavalino. Attached is a photo of a beautiful F430 sold on BAT showing what I am talking about. The auction page (vehicle sold a while ago) is below.

So the question is…. Was it an option to have the gated engraving as opposed to the horse?….. Or was the cover switched to an aftermarket unit?

Actually I just found another car on bat.

    Thanks

Carbon gearknob cars have the gate pattern on the shift trim. The reason is the carbon gearknobs are produced with a cavalino on top rather than the pattern.

carbon shift knobs didn't have the engraved shift pattern, so with those equipped cars the pattern was engraved on the shift plate as opposed to being on the shift knob.

Thanks guys, I had noticed the horse on the shift knob. So here is on more question, any cars delivered with the gated design on both a silver shift knob and shift plate?

Yes. Ferrari part number 223130. I bought one for myself even though I don’t have a car to use it on. It’s desk art. :)
