with 16 pages of posts in only ONE of the posts on this forum regarding this company, if i was in the search for a company to do a conversion this is one company i wouldn't even contemplate going to. too much drama for me. just from reading this and the other few posts regarding this company, i can glean enough to know i'd find an alternative.

You make a very important point. Some are very happy. It seems many, possibly most are not. Some level of consistency is wanted by everyone. No one wants to leave a car behind for who knows how long and an expectation of spending a lot of money and have no level of confidence of satisfaction when its done.

Really makes one wonder why an investor would invest in the “criminal” founder and his business. Why would John Henkle risk whatever reputation he had to join a “garbage” company.

Over 400 conversions and many or most are unhappy? I wonder how many of those customer are NOT on f chat and therefore we don’t see their endorsements or complaints. We all know the saying bad news travels faster than good. I would guess a fraction of owners come here. That is a guess.

I wonder if there’s a lot more to the story, and if the author has personal connections to the alleged chauffeur and John Henkel.

    400.

I have no dog in this fight, but will add that my relationship with EAG has always been strong. Whether via Hill Engineering release bearings, shift knobs, pedals, or other kinds of maintenance items, EAG has always been a customer that I have enjoyed working with. Never an issue with payment; never an issue with communication. I have worked with Art, Dave (I think his brother?), and a number of other employees. No issues.

I am sorry to see this thread; I am sorry for the customers who have been (and are still) affected by this, and I'm sorry for the employees of EAG who have families to support, I am sorry for the investors and owners. No human wakes up and says "hey, let's make today miserable".

The Ferrari business is brutal. If you think it isn't, I've got bridge to sell you. I get through it the same way I did on Day #1: zero debts, zero partners, zero open A/R, zero open A/P. Surely it means the business will never be larger than 'me' and growth comes only from my own pocket -- but I'm fine with that. A 500 pound gorilla is frankly, just a gorilla.

There’s definitely more to the story, but I don’t think much of that story is related to Robert Farago (the author of the article.) He seems to be pretty transparent about being a customer, and about writing both positive and somewhat negative articles.

I think “the rest of the story” revolves around the “loan forgiveness” that Art mentioned multiple times in one of his videos. Was the business sound and was it paying off the loan per schedule? What were the loan covenants and were they violated? If they were violated, do the investors have a valid claim to the assets? That’s where “the rest of the story” lies.

I’m guessing it will take a few years for the rest of the story to be settled in court. Then someone like Ryan ZumMallen can write a book about it. I’m sure it will be an entertaining read.

Sadly like others have mentioned the car community and hobby has plenty of these stories. Usually it's something smaller. Anyone remember, I think it was, Durable 1 or something like that who was selling test pipes to replace cats. Yeah, ordered never got, had to fight to get money back. And that was a pittance compared to what these jobs are.

How about Stebro exhaust? Anyone remember them? Problems with over promising and WAY under delivering did them in. I did manage to get a Stebro for my 308 and loved it. Great product at a great price. But it was like pullin teeth to get them to deliver.

Had the same thing happen with a Cayenne, ordered a new exhaust, that community said not to deal with that company. But I took a chance because there was a new guy taking over. Yeah, something like 6 months later finally threatened to dispute the CC charges before they refunded. On a side note, the new guy did eventually get stuff together and I ended up later on ordering "test pipes" from him and it went smoothly.

The point of all this is people will only put up with so much ******** before they just won't deal with a company that they are involved in any more. With the other kits out there it seems someone should really team up with the Dr. S folks to do installs and if they under promised and over delivered we'd never hear about Art again.

I think the main reason of my satisfaction is that the conversion was done properly and meticulously. My go to shop is very experienced in Ferraris, custom builds and race cars. Their ambition is top notch and far from the issues that are related to EAG.

I think the main reason that many are unsatisfied is because of broken promises by EAG and not the kit itself.

This has been written, but no matter who is in charge of the "management", the CEO/OWNER/BIGDOGG/BIGKAHUNA is ultimately in charge of the success or failure, of the company and it's operations.

NFW I'm letting an investor manage my cashflow btw. A 3rd party hire? Sure, but not the incoming team.

So EAG basically **** on the entire Ferrari Chat community by receiving ad placement and then refusing to pay for it after-the-fact? Nice…

No! EAG is paid up through April. John Hennessey didn't pay up.
