    Hello,

I am currently in the process of restoring my Ferrari and have come across a part that I'm having trouble sourcing: the felt pads for the fuel tank spacers, with part number 107889.

While I understand the importance of using genuine Ferrari parts, I've found that these felt pads can be quite expensive, especially considering they are relatively small components and need around 10 of them. Therefore, I am exploring the possibility of acquiring them from an aftermarket seller or cutting them myself from a big block.

If anyone knows of a reputable aftermarket supplier or other manufacturer that offers these felt pads or has experience with sourcing something similar which give the same outcome, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or insights you could provide. Additionally, if someone could provide information on the material used for these pads, I would be open to cutting them myself to fit if it's a viable option.

My main goal is to find a cost-effective solution without compromising on quality or functionality. Any advice or assistance you can offer would be immensely helpful in my restoration project.

Thank you all for your time and support.

    Hi,
I am doing it on all my projects, this felt is available on ebay (1cm thick) and is cheap. Buying half a meter will do it.

I believe these pieces are no longer available from Ferrari. I got a sheet of nearly identical material from GT Car Parts and cut pieces to size.

IMHO felt is not a great material to use in an environment where it can absorb and retain water and any other liquid it may encounter in the engine compartment.

when I replaced my fuel tanks I used closed cell 3/8” neoprene I found online.

    Hey D,

    https://www.thefeltcompany.com/f10-9r1-wool-felt-sheet-24-x-72-x-1-2-thick-99-95/

Here's a link to some wool felt that I think would be correct..... high vibration absorption and excellent wicking properties........Maybe someone will provide a link to some reasonably priced felt elsewhere......expensive stuff is all I see online for real wool felt small sheets. I think this 2'x6' sheet would be good for 3-4 applications - I can't remember the size of the rectangles. I need some later this year as I refresh my engine bay. Maybe someone else and I could join you in on the purchase to make it reasonable!

Many automotive interior shops have this felt insulation at low price, great if one is near you?
